Boots, nothing from L&D yet for me or anyone else that I've heard.

UCLA New Grad Summer 2014
Gina, I also chose L&D as my first choice. No change in status yet. I haven't seen anyone else with a status change or interview yet on the other forum I follow on Facebook. (For L&D). Here's hoping there is still a chance!

Clinical instructor from H*ll
I am in the same boat this semester. This woman is tough and has high expectations. She is very vocal which helps me bc I am an auditory learner and I like to talk situations out. This instructor has upper semester expectations, drills things in our heads, but you learn so much from it! I secretly love her!

Patho and pharmacology
I am taking pharmacology right now, and it's tough. I find that I have more success when A. In relation to the text book, I skim the disease process and 100 percent focus on the nursing aspects and teaching regarding that drug. and B. I study and memorize the instructor's lecture and his pertinent info. Reading the entire chapter can be a waste of time especially the longer ones. I find that doing the end of chapter NCLEX multiple choice reviews at the end of each chapter helps. Check your answers, read the rationales, and study from the rationales. Overstudy important concepts and special indications for drugs that are out of the norm. One of my instructors once told me that if you over study, you'll be more successful in test taking. Know the correct answer without a doubt. It will give you more confidence. And to the person who had the drug note card idea with the drug class, action, conraindications, adverse reactions, assessments and teaching, thank you. I will use that idea. Good luck to all.

Pasadena City College RN FALL 2010??
omgitsmari, I haven't taken those 2 classes yet...and they are both currently full for both summer and fall sessions. I realized I misread my admission email from SMC and missed my registration date. I emailed my counselor today for advisement. How about you? have you taken them? If so how were they and who were your instructors? I know one of them is also offered online.

Pasadena City College RN FALL 2010??
Same story for me Andrew...got my email yesterday. It's a big bummer. I guess I'll be attending Santa Monica's RN program as soon as it's my turn for enrollment...estimated 2-3 semester wait. But at least I have a guaranteed seat. Please don't give up on your dreams to be an RN. Strive to do what you love! Santa monica's requirements are reasonable and pretty cut and dry...and if you qualify you are automatically on the waitlist. Only downfall is the wait obviously. You should apply to santa monica...they accept official applications twice a year, in october and in march. It's a beautiful school and the staff so far seems really on top of their stuff.... good luck everyone. =]

Pasadena City College RN FALL 2010??

-
Pasadena City College RN FALL 2010??
Thanks for the info and insight more to learn...I will continue to wait patiently, and hopefully I hear something this week. I would LOVE to attend PCC if accepted. If I am not, I am still on the waitlist for Santa Monica College's nursing program. Only downfall is the wait, but I would only be waiting 2 semesters more. I got on their waiting list early this year.

Pasadena City College RN FALL 2010??
Yeah still no email for me either. How weird...maybe they are limited on staff and it takes a while to email everyone? I doubt it's only GPA based...I'm sure there are several factors in the equation.

Pasadena City College RN FALL 2010??
Perhaps applicants recieve an email and then docs via postal mail with additional info about orientation and what not...but I could be wrong...but this whole process is taking forever!

Pasadena City College RN FALL 2010??
I called right when it hit the 12 week mark, and they said it would be another 2-3 weeks. Since the end of that period, I've been calling a couple times a week. Sometimes they say they don't know, but usually they say another 2-3 weeks. And the last time I called which was early last week, the lady informed me applicants would be notified at the end of june. I asked if she had a rough estimate as to exactly WHEN toward the end of June and she said she did not know. BOO! It is really annoying.

Pasadena city college nursing school
Hi peekabu, I am an applicant for this fall as well (PCC) and I called since the anticipation was killing me. I heard there were over 700 applicants. This is my first time applying to PCC and my GPA is good but not great. Should be interesting. I guess a few more weeks to wait! Good luck.
