Hello everyone!
I created this thread for those who are interested or applying to the residency program at Parkland for the summer 2020. I'm hoping this thread is helpful for those wanting to talk and ask questions. Good luck to everyone!

Oh that’s good! I think it’s weird that places like Cook’s count it because an LVN and RN are different.

Yes, I did. Didn’t apply to cooks for that reason. I’m not sure why EMTs are ok but LVNs aren’t. Oh well. God has a different plan for me. ❤️

Yes they are. It is strange because I feel more familiar with my scope of practice as an RN vs an LVN. And I’m familiar with a lot of skills. My best guess is that they don’t want to have to break habits already there. But I think that really depends on the nurse.

No it definitely doesn’t. I didn’t expect it to though. The RN role is different in a lot of aspects so I feel new in many ways.

That makes me think something went wrong with mine then.. they only asked me about 6 questions and I asked a few as well but it was still pretty short. Hopefully I’m just in my head. Good luck! They’re taking 6
