Should I go through with nursing?

I worked in customer service too before nursing. The job that I do, I wouldn’t change it, I love helping others. Maybe get a job as a tech in a hospital and you can get a better idea if nursing is for you. You can get a better picture on what your job will be as a nurse. Working in this field can allow you to connect better with classmates if you end up deciding that nursing is for you.

New Grad Losing Hope of Getting Job

I had no hospital experience. I graduated in May 2019 with a ADN. I passed my Nclex by August 2019. I started to apply to all the hospital by January 2019, but nothing. I started working in home healthcare, which I did not really wanted to, but I had to make money to start my BSN. I was glad, I gained some skills. I ended up applying to 35 residency programs in the hospital of my dreams plus who knows how many more in other hospitals. By December I got 2 interviews, and in February 2020 I had other 2. I ended up getting a job in MedSurg. I start in May 2020, a year later after my graduation in MY DREAM HOSPITAL. It was a long way but I perceived and kept trying. Do not give up.

For me personally, because it is a country hospital, there is a lot of patients all the time which is a great opportunity to learn. This is also a great teaching hospital. I had clinicals here for 2 semesters.

    Homehealth hard case

I work as a pediatric homehealth. My patient is so difficult that I am at the point that I am ready to quit. I work 50 hours a week, which I have ask the agency to give me only 40, but they have excuses that they are looking for someone. My patient cries so much, she has cerebral palsy and 14 years old, and cannot talk, poor soul. Last time I ended up crying in front of her mom because mainly, my patient moves so much that she ends up with bruises. Mom makes me think I do them (Yes I do report everything), but I wouldn’t hurt a fly. Should I quit, ask for another case, or what should I do? Has this ever happened to anyone?
