Parkland Nurse Residency July 2023

Hello. I wanted to make this space for those of us who will be new grads and have applied or will apply for the Parkland residency July 2023 cohort. I have applied and received an interview date (super excited!). Hopefully we can all connect and support each other here!

I know it's still early, but do we have a facebook group, yet?

Also, if anyone is a resident in the ICU, we should connect!

Hi and congrats on your offer! I'm curious which ICU you got an offer for. I interviewed with the neuro ICU and the OR, but have not heard back from either one.

I interviewed for OR last week as well and they said we should hear something by today or tomorrow. I haven't heard anything yet either though. I know there were only 10 spots too and someone else said it's a 3 yr contract.

Thank you! It's for BICU! I interviewed with the Neuro ICU, too; I haven't heard back. If I get an offer for it, I'll turn it down. BICU is my first choice

Yeah, the 3 year contract surprised me too when I saw that post because the job app site said 18 months. 3 years is not a deal-breaker for me though. Hopefully we hear something either way soon.

Has anyone applied to MICU ? Gotten an interview and heard back already ? I have an interview on the 15th and I'm just trying to see what the timeline looks like.

I just got a job offer! Kind of surreal, but I'm so excited.

@Cindy Jorge We'll see! I got into their CCNI program, so I'll have to choose one of their critical care units. I think the options are MICU, NICU, SICU, ED, Trauma ICU, Burn ICU, Neuro ICU, and Cardiac ICU. 
 

I haven't been to Parkland, so if anyone has any insight on these units, please let me know! Thank you.

Yes L&D, NICU, and OR residencies are all 3 yrs. I assume this is due to cost of training??
