Yeah, they sent out offers a couple weeks ago

Oh well I just had my interview on the 7th and I was told they hoped to send out offers by the end of this week

Ohh gotcha, yeah I interviewed on the 29th and they sent the first round of offers that weekend. Not sure if they have sent the second round for that next week of interviewing.

I also interviewed for L&D on the 6th and have not heard anything yet.

Hi there,

I'm hoping to get some helpful advice. I accepted the ED residency at Parkland, however no signed contract yet. My passion has always been children and I really wanted the NICU residency track, but did not get to interview for it with Parkland. Well, children's has their residency application open and I received an email today about interviews etc. Their program does not start until October, and they don't have a NICU track starting in October, but they do have others that I would be interested in. I'm just torn on whether I should continue with the process with Children's or just stay with what I already chose at Parkland. What do ya'll think? Help me decide ?

Both are good options, for sure! Would you regret it if you didn't at least go through with the interview process for Children's? After the interview you might have more insight as to whether or not it's a good fit for you. If working with children is really where you ultimately want to be then I would say starting at Children's might be a better fit for you, even if it isn't NICU. What are the other tracks?  Parkland will give you excellent training but you probably won't see many kids in the ED since Children's is next door. I would do the interview and get more information and then make your decision. I took at job at Parkland in the ED as well but still took an interview for a surgical nursing position at THR the following week. The interview went great but it definitely solidified my decision to be in the ED, surgical nursing is not for me. Good luck with your decision!

UTAnurse2022, I would definitely regret it if I didn't. They have critical care tracks such as cardiac ICU, emergency, oncology, perianesthesia, ambulatory float pool, and pulmonology to name a few. I appreciate your advice, I will definitely continue the process and then make a decision if given an offer. Good luck to you in the ED as well!

For those who were offered a job

How long after the interview did you hear back? Was it the following weekend or when?

I got my offer 5 days later. But I think it really depends on what unit you’re applying to.I applied to med/surg hope that helps

Did anyone get a call from parkland from a Gabriella? Said that parkland is raising their residency pay and offering a sign on bonus but I didn’t hear anything from my recruiter.

Hello, yes that's true!

I'm internal and got the company wide email that recruiting and retaining residency staff has a critical impact on staffing and due to the large class starting in July they are excited to announce the raise. I also received a call a day after the announcement email from my recruiter to personally tell me about it. I did not hear anything about a sign on bonus though
