Parkland NICU or L&D resident summer 2013 applicants

Published

I thought we should start a new tread so we could stay up to date on any news regarding Parkland. I only applied to NICU and L&D nurse resident positions and graduate in May from UTA. I'm still praying Parkland calls!! ;)

@mrspinkie and @hardworkinmama -- What were the interviews themselves like? Were there a TON of behavioral questions, or just a few? Did they give you a lot of information/detail on what the residency is going to be like? I just wonder what all they put into the 15 minute interview we have. I'm so excited, but nervous all at the same time!! :chicken:

I believe today was the first day of ER interviews. They can process your application, but that doesn't mean you'll get an interview. Unfortunately, they get so many applications & they only do a hundred or so interviews. Since this residency is so big they might do 200 interviews but you've got to bet they got 300+ applicants

500 applied, 200 interviews, 45 openings.

I had an ER residency interview yesterday morning also. I think it went well and they were all really nice! I don't like waiting though. This is going to be the longest week ever!!

@allicat51305 - that is super! congrats! i have one on monday and am very excited/nervous. what was it like?

Has anyone heard anything from the ICU?

@blueorchid981 - yes I have an interview with the SICU on Monday

It was very short.... They asked things like how do you prioritize? Tell me about yourself? How did you handle a situation where you didn't agree with a doctors decision? Tell me a time you were proud of something you did. They were nice but I was still very nervous. Be confident, you will do fine! Good luck!

Good luck everyone who has an L&D interview Monday & Tuesday!

@allicat51305 -- thank you for the insight... the question regarding disagreeing with a doctors decision is a tough one... especially if you are a brand new grad! :nailbiting:

Any out of state people who have phone interviews scheduled this week as well?

Thanks for the info @allicat51305. Did you take anything with you besides copies of your resume?

@allicat51305 did they say when ER was going to get in touch with you?
