Nightmare. Not much else to say. Anyone who has dealt with this diagnosis knows what I am talking about. Her kid has a chronic illness. Mom has been splitting staff, splitting outside medical providers, has now gone to the Superintendent and we all have to sit down with her Thursday- she has somehow managed to convener the 20 busiest staff in the district to all come listen to her. Lord help us all.

I'm sorry you're dealing with this.
We have quite a few parents here that are obviously mentally ill and it is just sad. I feel awful for the kids who have to live with it every day.

Yes- I really feel for her son. She is the only parent and he is with her 24/7. He is learning from her to manipulate and split staff as well which is so sad ?

I had a parent that went from staff to staff until gets the answer she wanted.
I now like to have witness when I am on telephone and all email is cc'd and even bcc'd. This allows all people on the team to know what is wanted and what will be given. Things have settled down - for now . . .

It's going to take a lot of time to untangle. Stay strong.

Any chance with a pre-meeting with as many of the major school players that can attend for strategizing/getting on the same page before BPD mom comes in and attempts to wreak (more) havoc?

YES. Nothing worse than a bunch of staff coming into a meeting cold with no prep work done or agreed upon plan in place. Might as well just sit back and watch the BPD unfold in a group setting.
Mine had a 4 hour ARD yesterday (part three), glad my part was completed at the last one . . .

At this point we are all thankfully up to speed on Mom's MO. She made all these demands for the IEP and we finally got everything in place and now she is refusing to sign it citing "issues" with the wording ? so we are all aware she basically wants to list all the reasons why the IEP we wrote looks nothing like what she expected- even though we rewrote it already once to make changes she demanded. This will continue until June I am sure.
We must have the same mom!

every meeting with the mom that we had last year resulted in similar things. she demands. we meet demands. she demands it in a different way. rinse and repeat.
