My books (for 2 classes/3 books) were $160. (I already had the A&P book from last semester, which cost $40, so I didn't have the buy that.) My big secret? Amazon!I got my Medical Dosage Calculations at the college bookstore for $50, but I got my Micro book ($45; retail: $130) and lab book ($66; retail: $77) used on Amazon. And they were in great condition.

That is usually what I do, but I got shafted this year with a new edition. And I didnt' know anyone who'd already taken the class, so I couldn't see if the old edition would work.
I ordered mine from Barnes and Noble using my member discount, and on top of that I got a coupon for twenty percent off in the mail for B&N just before I ordered the book. At the time, they were offering free shipping, and I ordered it in Virginia so I paid Virginia sales tax (which is two percent lower than ours in NC - we happened to be in Chesapeake for the day!).
So I paid $108 for a $160 book!

That's not too bad. Good job on getting a good deal on a new book!

Thank goodness for eBay. I bought 3 out of the 5 books I needed there. Unfortunately I had to get 2 new books with online access codes or I would have gotten those on eBay as well. Paid $263 total for everything so that's still not bad.

I sold my last semester's books on ebay and got back exactly what I paid.

Wow books can be so expensive. I just happened to luck into a teacher who taught anatomy without a book. He did it all on powerpoint and we had to buy a flash drive and download the lesson to take home and review. NO BOOK! :) I'm taking him again for the next class. I've asked other students and have been told of a Microbiology teacher who teaches class without a book too! I'm definitely going to take her class too! :)
At my LVN school where I'm trying to get in you just pay tuition of $2500 and all books are included! That's a bargain right there.

For $1200 the books should read themselves aloud to you.
