Pacer testing today....with a small amount of fall out but now, at the end of the day, the middle school kids are absolutely, positively, falling apart! Everyone thinks they're dying.
It's Pacer Test day at my school today, too. I had a kid come in and tell me "I just threw up 4 times! I think I might have pushed myself too hard in the Pacer Test." Ya think?
I looked at him and said "If you throw up again, come see me." He said "I feel so much better now!!" and off he went.
I hate Pacer Test day.

Our coaches actually tell them to take it easy and not to push themselves. They actually do practice runs before the actual test and it helps them out.
My first year it was bad, but last year was super easy and I didn't have any students dying that year.

I had 6 sent down all together as a nice little present - almost sooner than I could set my purse down. The AT is here in the mornings, not sure what she was doing - maybe she had 40 more in her office...
Sweet Baby Moses.
It started.... I got my first kid right now. He fell during class and was breathing hard. I calmed him down. Vitals are normal, just took him to my room, gave him some water and let him rest. Informed his parents. He is fine right now, just sleeping. I'll check him again before I let him go.

i had a student come in here and give a a loooonnngg drawn out explanation as to why she couldn't run the mile - then i stopped her and said - "wait - it's -2 with a wind chill of -15 today. You aren't going out to run - are you really running the mile in the gym?" Student: oh yes! ? ? call the gym teacher who i swear i could hear laughing clear across the school - no phone required.
