I keep seeing people mentioning that they have/had multiple orientation days. Is this normal? I guess I never thought there'd be more that one..
i opted out of mine....heard they walk you through where your classes are going to be,eating, the dorms and where the dean and directors will be....i have been going to this school taking pre-reqs for 2 years and did the LPN program at this college as well 5 yrs ago....even went to this school in 1981-1983....i think i know the school....i emailed the school and told them i had a conflict(have to work) and i would much rather meet the dean and directors in a less hectic and hurried environment such as orientaion...no problem they said....

Hmm. Ours is mandatory! If you don't show up, you don't get to keep your spot. We also register for classes that day.
My orientation is Aug 10th and it is ALL Day, from 9 am to about 5:30pm (I am figuring they factored in a break for lunch too). We will be filling out all the enrollment paperwork, signing forms, picking our Clinical instructors and probably go over the syllabus and get a tour of the facilities too. It is mandatory. I am looking forward to it, but I know some students have left orientation crying in the past. Overwhelmed I suppose. I just want to get started!
I do know the classes start aug 15th though, and i've seen when the classes would be through their app. So that's neat. At least I know what days etc to expect if I do get in.
Myself and most of my classmates wore jeans and a nice top to orientation and that seemed to be appropriate. We are allowed to wear this to lecture as well, but our jeans have to fit appropriately and be in good repair -- that or come in business casual. For labs and clinicals, we come in our uniforms. :)
(Sorry, I meant this to be in reply to your question about what to wear.)
