Opinion needed-trads,non-trads and very non-trads

Published

Hi all,

This thread is just for fun and I got the idea from my other thread.

Basically, I would like to know the ages of the most disruptive and annoying people in your class.

My definition of trad is 18-30, non-trad 30-40 and very non-trad 40 and above. (This is just for the purpose of this thread).

So maybe at the end of the day we can tally the votes and give an award to the most annoying and disruptive group.:D

p.s this is supposed to be just for laughs and it would be nice if we can all be polite.

Thank you.

Quite frankly I find this thread rude and disrespectful. Have you not been taught about ageism in your classes? Or perhaps stereotyping? I wish the moderator would remove it.

If you have a problem with someone in your nursing classes, act like an adult and either go to the instructor, or if the instructor is unwilling to assist you, go to the person who is bothering you and tell them why.

Frankly, there are annoying people of ALL ages. That's life. It's all about maturity, not age.

I'm going to go study for NCLEX now. I refuse to use what little "down time" I do have in divisive and ultimately useless banter about what age group I find most annoying. And BTW, this entire thread speaks volumes about maturity at ANY age. To the OP, think about it.

I don't think anyone meant to be disrespectful. We are simply discussing observations. This is a conversation that could totally be held in any psychology class.

I apologize for your offense.

Dolce Vita = sweet life

Dolcelatte = a sweet blue cheese

Now if my life gets any more complicated I will have to change my handle!

I just thought I would say that the woman in my class who is most annoying, without the filter, must have been like that her whole life.

I think Crazier Than You is right about the thread.

Hey Sweet Life! I gotta tell ya, dolcelatte SOUNDS like coffee served at Starbucks with a blue lid!

Let me guess, you're Italian... right? Is Buena cera Italian? I like that word, I'm being silly :) Have a happy Sunday!

This thread is just for fun... me hear a Cranky on a Sunday though!

Their is a brand of Cottage Cheese and Milk that has a similar name, that might be what your thinking of, when you said your post that is what I immediately thought of.

You are right...I never thought of that.

The cheese is certainly not a cottage cheese! Italians would die at the comparison..hee hee!

How do you even get into the nursing program at age 18? The youngest girl in our class is around 20 (first quarter). She did the running start program that we have here in Washington state (high schoolers can attend college during their jr. and sr. year and graduate with an AA). So she had her AA at 18. Then she had to go and take the science prereq's, so about another 9 months, then you have your waiting list. Ours was only 9 months this time, some areas can be 3 years! To be 18 you'd have to enter the nursing program without prereqs and no waitlist? So, really 18 should be in the non-trad? :D

Anyway, the average age in our program is mid 30's. We have lots in their 40's, and almost no one that'd I'd put under 24 (out of 70 maybe 5?).

So, it's too early to tell, but past experience has shown it's usually the people who feel they are "peers" with our instructors. Their lack of respect bugs the crap out of me. I've noticed that men are usually annoying in a "loud" manner, like talking strait out, while girls just whisper in the back of the room.

What part of WA are you in?

Eastern

Oh ok, WA will always be my home. it was the longest place I ever lived, I lived on the western side and did all my pre reqs there outside of Micro. I miss it but got to spend a few weeks last summer there and hopefully going back again this summer. All my friends and family still live there.

Although I was not 18 when I started pre-reqs.....I could have been in the nursing program at 18. I started college at 17 and had 6 credits in English when I graduated HS. So, theoretically speaking, if I attended FCCJ in 1979, I could have taken all my pre-reqs, applied to and been accepted before I turned 19 (March of my sophomore year). I could have been 16 when I started college, but my parents refused to allow me to be promoted again when I was in school, they didn't think it was emotionally healthy for my development to be a 15 yo Senior in HS.

There was also this fellow student in my first college....she could have been an RN by 18! :D She attended our school beginning at 13!

So 18 is possible.

BTW, I am what you termed Very, Very Non-trad. The 'annoying' folks in my class.....at least one in EACH age category....and I am one that my classmates would term annoying! :lol2:
