Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2017)

Published

Hey everyone :)

So fall just flew in so I thought what a great time it would be to start my nursing applications lol. It is very early, but I enjoy having this on my mind. I am in my final year at University and am hoping to be a nursing student come next September. I wanted to make a space where we could come together with a common goal: getting accepted. The schools I plan to apply are:

Trent, Toronto, Humber, Western and Queens

Possibly considering RPN programs as well.

@thesix

Congratulations! Would you mind sharing your GPA? Also, have you graduated already?

@alexab09

My GPA for the last 2 years was around a 3.8. Good luck!

Hi @zzyy

My GPA in the last two years was a 3.58 I believe. I graduated in 2014 and took some courses in fall 2016 to bump my gpa up

Hi everyone!

So I applied to U of T through the OUAC a couple weeks ago. I then started working on my supplemental application. I uploaded copies of my transcripts on my supplemental application, but also assumed that official copies would need to be sent from all my post-secondary institutions. I arranged to have all my transcripts mailed to U of T last week. I finally received an email inviting me to register for joinUofT this morning. When I registered, however, I noticed that it said documents should be uploaded? Is anyone able to shed light on the transcript/document requirement for applying to UofT?

Thanks so much!

@future.RN.

You need to request a transcript from OUAC for it to be considered official. It shows the details and refers you to the OUAC site here: Page Not Found - Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing

So definitely send it in as soon as possible - for most universities it's all done electronically so it's really quick to initiate. I think UofT arrived mine in around 2 weeks (from McMaster) so I think you'll be fine if you send in the request today!

Thanks for your reply! I actually live in BC and I think that may apply only to Ontario schools?

@future.RN

Oh, I don't know for sure then. But you should definitely try calling OUAC or UofT to confirm their procedures!

Hey Everyone! Can't believe its finally that time of year when people are starting to hear back!

I've applied to UofT, Western, Nipissing, Humber, and Trent.

I'm working right now to finish up BIOL235 (Anatomy and Physiology) with Athabasca University - just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat?

Wishing everyone good luck :)

Hi, I have applied to Trent, UWO, and Lakehead.

I'm finishing my graduate diploma this winter.

My OUAC application is still under process. On the other hand, my friend's application process has already completed within a couple of days. So the anxiety has started taking over. I'll be following up on upcoming Monday if status doesn't change.

I wish you all the very best!

I got accepted to Humber today, super excited!!!

Hi thesix!

Congrats! Just wondering how you found out about your acceptance. Did they send you an email or did you have to check on your humber portal? Or did you find out through OntarioColleges.ca?

Thanks!

I actually think I did it correctly, based on the link you sent me. Thanks again for replying! :)

Hi @hopefulgal! I'm also taking Biol 235 through Athabasca right now. I feel like I'm JUST starting to get a good study system going. It's a tough course!
