Hey, I used to creep these forums for the past few years and they helped affirm my decision to apply to nursing school for Fall 2020. I didn't see one started for next year so I thought, why not start one?
I graduated a while back so I'm a bit older, but my top three choices are:
1. Queen's
2. McMaster
3. York
4. Humber-UNB

Was a bit surprised because I had a 3.94 GPA, coached swimming, volunteered at a gym and physio clinic for two years, and had a full time job all throughout my undergrad.
Was it your final final GPA? Or GPA at the time of admission e.g. up to fall semester? Damn its strong!
And just my two cents - I know a couple of people who slipped with 3.90+ GPA - one was international student and one guessed its their personal statement. I heard uoft REALLY VALUES personal statement part! Hope we get in this time!

WOW! I am so surprised that they did not accept you. These are amazing things IMO, and I think it is totally their loss that you are not in the program. You would be a great nurse wherever you go! So what did you do in these two years? Did you reapply last year or did you go somewhere else for the nursing?
My GPA when applying was 3.91, then ended at 3.94. Yeah I’m assuming it was my personal statement, but I tried to answer in similar ways I did on the Caspar and was accepted to Trent and York first round.
@AmeliaWan I actually did the prep semester at humber then decided to take a break. I moved home alone from Halifax and honestly was so mentally drained I decided to give myself a break and just work/travel a bit. Reapplied to Humber only this year - loved my profs, and have a coworker just graduating the accelerated program this year who raves about it. I got accepted first week of Feb so I’m looking forward to finally doing it!

I am so happy for you! Honestly application does take a toll on your mental health, and I am glad that you are doing so much better! UofT is overrated for what it's worth. After four years of undergrad with UofT, I kinda get sick of it really. However, I am applying as an international student, and there ain't many schools that accept international students. I guess I just have to take my chance, but I really don't know what I will do If I don't get accepted this year.
Hey guys, just wanted to say that I hope all of you are doing well amidst this unfortunate time. I mean whoever thought we'd be stuck in a pandemic during our life? This time right now is probably very overwhelming as admission decisions are starting to come out, I know I am very anxious and nervous. Just know that even though you do not end up receiving an admission offer to your top choice, or in general that you are all still worthy of being an exceptional nurse. Just do more volunteering, and work more, or take additional courses if you want to take more pre-reqs or enhance your GPA and become even stronger. You can always apply again next year as well, so do not let your guard down. Remember, your aspiration was to become a nurse because you want to help others and you care, do not let an admission rejection ruin that dream of yours. I only applied to u of t, and I do not really have high hopes for it, but I tried applying to a few jobs in the meantime in which I could work next year if I do not end up getting an admission offer.
Good luck everyone, and hope you are all staying safe and healthy. I know this is a rough time of uncertainty with all the admission decisions, but do not let any admission decision to make you think less of yourself❤️ You're all capable of becoming amazing nurses in the future!

As far as I know, yes - in terms of getting C or whatever the grade it is. To rank the applicants - no I dont think so.

Those are AMAZING stats. Alright now I’m worried. Did you take a lot of humanities courses or were they mostly science?
