Hey, I used to creep these forums for the past few years and they helped affirm my decision to apply to nursing school for Fall 2020. I didn't see one started for next year so I thought, why not start one?
I graduated a while back so I'm a bit older, but my top three choices are:
1. Queen's
2. McMaster
3. York
4. Humber-UNB
Hey everyone! I've been looking at this forum for quite a while but haven't posted anything. I applied to Queens, McMaster, Western and Trent. I just received an offer from Trent today! My GPA from the past 2 years was around a 3.7 on a 4.0 scale. Really hoping to hear back from the other schools as well but we'll see! Good luck everyone ?
hey guys I have a dilemma, currently my GPA for the last 10 credits is a 3.47 based on my Winter term of third year grades and my fall term of fourth year. In my fall term of fourth year I had a 3.98/4 GPA. I finish all my finals and courses by April 8th and I am expecting to get a 3.98/4 GPA for this Winter semester which would actually make my last 10 credits to have a GPA of 3.98/4. I was wondering if u of t would factor in my new GPA once my Winter term grades are sent to them. I'm just nervous because I really want them to include my Winter term grades as a GPA of 3.98 is way more stronger than a 3.47.
Can't believe it's April already... good luck to everybody who applied to U of T! I remember feeling so anxious during this time last year. It will be OK everyone! I am sure you guys will all end up becoming great nurses ❤️ hope to see you guys at school in sept! I am rooting for EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU!

Thank you so much for the encouragement! That is exactly what I need right now, as I am so anxious everyday waiting to hear back from UofT. May I ask you when did you hear back from them last year?

They may accept you with the 3.47 GPA depending on the quality of your supplementary application and reference letters. If they are on the fence about admitting you with those stats, they will most likely wait for your most recent Winter term marks and then recalculate your GPA. I wouldn't worry too much!

I know exactly how you feel. I went through the same thing! I would actually advice against going on this forum for the next while, because you are going to feel even more anxious once acceptances start rolling out and people start posting about it. I received my acceptance letter on April 22nd I think. But I know acceptance letters were sent out on a rolling basis until mid June or something, then it goes to waitlists.

Thank you for the kind words of encouragement!! May I ask what your GPA was that you got accepted for?

thank you! I'm just super nervous, and with this whole pandemic it made me more hopeless. But I am trying to look at the positive side of things.

I hear ya. So much uncertainty. But by the time you guys enter the program, everything should be more or less back to normal. The pandemic also shouldn’t delay acceptances from being sent out because there are no interviews... best of luck! Try to keep yourself distracted! You tried your best and that’s all we can really do right? I am proud of you. Getting such a high GPA is not easy.
