Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2020

Hey, I used to creep these forums for the past few years and they helped affirm my decision to apply to nursing school for Fall 2020. I didn't see one started for next year so I thought, why not start one?

I graduated a while back so I'm a bit older, but my top three choices are:

1. Queen's

2. McMaster

3. York

4. Humber-UNB

I also got accepted the 13th, got an email, but no package in the mail!

I just wanted to ask if anyone knows how GPA calculations work for the last 60 credits. My last four semesters only has 18 courses. Would they include another semester to make up the 2 courses to make it 20 courses? Thanks!

Yes, I believe they will include all courses in that semester into the GPA calculation, even if it goes over 60 credits.

I applied late to Humber on February 5th with a 3.4gpa. Do you guys think I have a change being that the equal consideration date has passed.

I don’t think so. When I called admissions they said they haven’t sent out waitlist. When Did you apply and what is your GPA?

Hey, my GPA is a 3.45 on a 4.0 scale. I currently work Triage at a doctor's office in the city, I have volunteered over 4 years with Toronto Rehabilitation hospital, I volunteer with my dog, who is a Therapy Dog, at local schools, hospitals, events, I worked at the Distress Centre for a year (it's a crisis hotline here in Toronto, I've volunteered in an infant lab for cognition in the past, I have worked as a Research Analyst on a project involving youth in Toronto, and I have been working customer service for 6 years now. I am basically all over the map in terms of work and volunteering, but my GPA in my 3rd year of university brought me down a bit.

I guess you applied before February 1st. You should hear soon from them hopefully. All the best
