Hey, I used to creep these forums for the past few years and they helped affirm my decision to apply to nursing school for Fall 2020. I didn't see one started for next year so I thought, why not start one?
I graduated a while back so I'm a bit older, but my top three choices are:
1. Queen's
2. McMaster
3. York
4. Humber-UNB
Hi Everyone! I'm only applying to the you of T nursing program as it is my top choice as apposed to my other program choices that are not nursing. I'm in my fourth year at McMaster and my fall term GPA was a 3.9/4.0. My GPA for my second semester of third year including the Summer of 2020 is a 3.3/4.0. Based on my progress in my Winter term of fourth year, I should end up getting a 3.9/4.0 GPA. However, the grades I received for my pre-requisite courses are not the best but they meet the minimum requirements.
My extracurriculars include: being a residence ambassador, going on a medical brigade to Honduras, volunteering extensively at hospitals for the past 6 years in various departments - chemotherapy, ultrasound, outpatient procedure suites, adult inpatient surgery, emergency and the HELP program, went through a research placement to write a meta-analysis regarding the association between neural crest cells and diagnosing cancer in earlier stages where I presented at a undergraduate research symposium to various professors and post-grad students, published a research paper regarding pre-clinical interventions in Alzheimer's Disease, volunteered for relay for life events, was part of the Arthritis Foundation as an executive member at my university, volunteered at St. Michael's Hospital in a Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease lab, competed in HOSA Canada for two years, and was a peer mentor for international students.
I was wondering what my chances are to get into you of T, despite my GPA not being in the competitive range due to it being between a 3.6. Also, I was wondering if you of T will recalculate my GPA after receiving my Winter 2020 marks to make a decision of my application and if I repeated one of the courses in the pre-req list, how that will impact me.
Thanks for your help ? and good luck to all of you with your applications ?

Do you guys think Humber's second entry program has filled up already? I saw on their site that the status now said "waitlisted"? ?
It might be filled up, but congrats on making waitlist! That's a good spot to be in. You should be expecting a letter in the mail within a week or so. I got my offer letter the other day and I'm excited!

Congratulations!! Did you receive an email yet? ? I received it on the same day I saw the status change, but I haven't gotten the official package in the mail yet.

I actually haven't gotten an email from them ? I checked the MyHumber page and saw the Final Offer there. I got the package a week later in the mail!

Oh so the opposite happened ? That’s good you got the package! I’m going to email Humber then, it’s been more than 2 weeks for me.
