Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2020

Updated:   Published

Hey, I used to creep these forums for the past few years and they helped affirm my decision to apply to nursing school for Fall 2020. I didn't see one started for next year so I thought, why not start one?

I graduated a while back so I'm a bit older, but my top three choices are:

1. Queen's

2. McMaster

3. York

4. Humber-UNB

Thank you! My overall average is around an 82 (81.7) and my last 5 credits is an 84!

ooh okay thanks for sharing that! I'm sitting around the same average (I'm also 4th year doing BMSc at Western!) but I decided last minute to apply to Humber so I applied after the Feb 1 deadline ? hopefully there's still space in the program!

Quick question-- I took only 9 total courses in my last year (I have since, graduated). Will the admissions committee take one course from my previous year to complete the full 10 courses? I really hope so.

They will use the entire semester. I have a similar situation but the admissions said 5.0 is just the minimum amount. They will add semesters until they reach 5.0FCE OR MORE

FML, I guess my average is a 3.3 then. lol.

Has anyone gotten in with a B+? For UofT

Just double check - since you graduated it may be different. I’m still finishing up so that’s maybe why

You might wanna check the previous Years forum

Hey everyone! I think I got accepted to York? It says I have an offer on OUAC but it said I got accepted on Feb.6 and I still haven't gotten an admission email from them. I also didn't any email from them with access to a myfile account or anything. Did this happen for any of you?

Congrats to everyone who got acceptances!!! So so happy for you future nurses ?❤️

@Haha2401 Congrats!! Do you mind sharing your gpa? Are you an internal applicant?

@prenurse20 Thank you! To be honest I'm not really sure if it's an actual offer yet or not since I didn't get the admission email ? But my last 10 credits average is around 81 and last semester average was 89!

Edit* Also I'm not an internal applicant! I'm currently studying at Western ?

Ohh okok. Dont worry, Im sure it is an offer!!

The letter got mixed up but yes it’s an offer! ?

For those if you applying to York and Uoft, which one is your first choice and why? Also if there’s anyone who is in the York program would you be able to talk a lot it more? I find that there’s a lot more info on uoft !

Hey!! I’m in the same boat. Can’t decide. Do you know if we can accept then withdraw later? Mainly waiting on UofT and western, and I know they don’t send our acceptances til late March

I think you can accept and then accept another offer later, also in the same boat! We have to wait for the offer to appear on OUAC though first right?
