Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2020

Updated:   Published

Hey, I used to creep these forums for the past few years and they helped affirm my decision to apply to nursing school for Fall 2020. I didn't see one started for next year so I thought, why not start one?

I graduated a while back so I'm a bit older, but my top three choices are:

1. Queen's

2. McMaster

3. York

4. Humber-UNB

got into humber this AM! ? I actually went for the prep semester two years ago and struggled. It wasn’t hard but i didn’t get approved for osap and was just struggling to work full time, live on my own and manage school. My GPA when I applied last time was 3.63, and 3.87 by the end of my final semester. With my prep courses it went back down to 3.61 for this admission session!

Congrats on the acceptance!! ? I think I got an offer but I want to confirm. I checked MyHumber just now and I'm freaking out in class LOL. Does it say "final offer" for your offer status? I don't see a link to accept/decline the offer and my OCAS status hasn't changed.

Hahaha yes that’s right! I actually at first was like... “is this my last chance?” Hahaha but if you click the help it says final offer is what it should be. I just got an email a few minutes ago but OCAS usually takes a day or two to update. I’m so happy ?

Congratulations to everyone who got accepted!! ?

I just got the email!! Ahhh. Maybe I'll see you on campus next year ?

Hi! I'm currently in my fourth year finishing my BSMc at Western, I applied to Humber and Western accelerated nursing and was just offered admission to Humber this afternoon! Waiting on Western but I was told they don't usually send out acceptances until the end of April so here comes the waiting game!

@bridelben congrats on getting accepted! ? If you don’t mind me asking, what’s your overall average and last 5 credits average?

Hey! My overall average is around an 82 (81.7) and my last 5 credits is an 84!

Hello everyone! I also got accepted into Queen's University. For those who got accepted into Queen's but are awaiting for responses from other universities, will you accept Queen's offer or decline it?

Hey!! I’m in the same boat. Can’t decide. Do you know if we can accept then withdraw later? Mainly waiting on UofT and western, and I know they don’t send our acceptances til late March

Hey everyone!

I only applied to UofT, but my GPA in my last 5 full courses is around a 3.7. I have research experience working with forensic patients, aggressive patients, and I have been a leader for a global health organization for the past 4 years. I hope I'll be able to get in. Now we wait! ?

Quick question-- I took only 9 total courses in my last year (I have since, graduated). Will the admissions committee take one course from my previous year to complete the full 10 courses? I really hope so.
