Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2020

World Canada CA Programs

Updated:   Published

Hey, I used to creep these forums for the past few years and they helped affirm my decision to apply to nursing school for Fall 2020. I didn't see one started for next year so I thought, why not start one?

I graduated a while back so I'm a bit older, but my top three choices are:

1. Queen's

2. McMaster

3. York

4. Humber-UNB

was 3.7 your cumulative gpa? or for last 30 credits?

Im so worried. my gpa seems to be too low.

Last 30. Cumulative is slightly lower. I honestly thought my gpa was too low too But I did it and I’m cheering for you!

My last 30 credits would be 3.3 but im hoping i still have a chance ?

Hi everyone! I applied to westerns nursing program but im a little worried my GPA might not be high enough. Does anyone have any idea what the cutoff was like last year?

Hi everyone! I'm a 4th year student studying at Western and I applied to York, UofT and Humber! My cGPA is sitting around 3.3 right now but my last 5 credits will probably be around 3.8/9. However, I'm completing all my prerequisite course this semester so the marks won't be out until end of April/ beginning of May. I have some extracurriculars like volunteering at the hospital, exec of a few clubs, job as a residence advisor. I'm super scared about my gpa though ? What are my chances of getting in?

Just an FYI, I did hear back from York last week so they are sending out applications. I did my Casper in January though so that’s probably part of it!

Good Luck!

Hey! Do you mind if I ask if you were already a York student or are you applying from another school?

Also, have you completed all your prereqs already or was it a conditional offer?

Thanks!

Thanks!

I’m finishing up my degree from Waterloo next term!

i had finished all my prereqs already however my offer is still conditional. I need to keep a B+ average for the rest of my degree.

Ahh Congratulations!!

If you don’t mind me asking, where else did you apply + your 1st choice thus far?

got into humber this AM! ? I actually went for the prep semester two years ago and struggled. It wasn’t hard but i didn’t get approved for osap and was just struggling to work full time, live on my own and manage school. My GPA when I applied last time was 3.63, and 3.87 by the end of my final semester. With my prep courses it went back down to 3.61 for this admission session!

just got into Queens as well! so excited

Thanks so much!! I applied pretty much everywhere - Trent, McMaster, western, UofT, York, Humber, UofT!! I think my first choice is queens or western
