Hey, I used to creep these forums for the past few years and they helped affirm my decision to apply to nursing school for Fall 2020. I didn't see one started for next year so I thought, why not start one?
I graduated a while back so I'm a bit older, but my top three choices are:
1. Queen's
2. McMaster
3. York
4. Humber-UNB

Payment deadline isn’t smth they would use to remove people either as uoft also gives 10 business days after the deadline (bc bank transaction may take longer). There isn’t really any deadline for people to drop their offer. IDK what reason, but if anyone sees the program to be insufficient ( because of being online or get an offer for the school that’s closer to their home) then that’s when they would drop uoft and make a space available for waitlisted applicants. Someone did get an offer last min for fall 2019, so it isn’t entirely unlikely. Hang tight ?

Yes by 24th I meant someone might decide not to attend UofT by last minute due to any reasons, and there indeed were people who got admitted at the last days of August and even the day before school started (I think in 2017 forum someone mentioned that). So there might still be hope! However I do not know if in previous years that the spots were full before the end of August. It just two weeks! We can do this! And whatever happens, I know that you will end up somewhere even next year, and a lot of people do apply second time and got in!

I'm in the same boat as you. 2020 hasn't been very predictable so far, so anything can happen, don't lose hope :)

I think that the last day (aka waitlist closes) is September 11th, as they stated in their waitlist email that that is the latest they will notify successful candidate(s). That being said, I got an email last year near the end of August detailing the chances of getting in (very slim). However, there's a lot going on and so I would think that the dropout rate right now would be higher than in previous years due to the whole COVID situation.

Hi! Are you also in the top 15 in group 2 waitlist? I totally agree with what you said that COVID is making everything unpredictable, and by reading previous forum that it is very strange for people in waitlist group 2 to receive any emails like the one we got. So part of me think that there is hope!

What's odd about this year's emails? I feel like they mostly just gave us updated info.

Oh I don't think people in waitlist group 2 got an email said something about being top 15 in group 2, but there were people in group 2 got off the waitlist in 2018 forum, and I think he/she just got the acceptance at the end of August and no email at the beginning at August stated he/she was among top 15 in group 2, so I found that very weird. Maybe it's a new thing this year considering all the pandemic situation, some people might choose to defer their acceptance due to various reason, maybe online clinical since we only get two years of compressed program....

Hey! I'm in group 2 - not part of the top 15 sadly. I do have hope for those of you in the top 15 though! Hopefully something good will come out of COVID haha

Wait... you're kidding, there are even more in group 2?
What's the point in group 3 if there's this many! I'm also sorry to hear about you not being in the top 15. I hope you have something else lined up unlike me though.

Honestly I was shocked myself to find out that there are more than 15 people in group 2 too! Quite sad about it because this is not my first time applying nor my first time on the waitlist ?. I would like to know why they even have a group 3...
I’m actually in the same boat. Didn’t apply to too many programs so was placing hope in getting into this program. Regardless, everything will work out one way or another I guess.
