Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2020

Updated:   Published

Hey, I used to creep these forums for the past few years and they helped affirm my decision to apply to nursing school for Fall 2020. I didn't see one started for next year so I thought, why not start one?

I graduated a while back so I'm a bit older, but my top three choices are:

1. Queen's

2. McMaster

3. York

4. Humber-UNB

It seems Humber hasn’t taken anyone off waitlist yet this year. The program status has changed to closed on their website.

Did they send out emails to those on the waitlist to inform you what number you are on the list?

Yes I have, but don't worry too much about it, they are very fast, I received a response the week after (they mail you a paper saying you're all good)

Hi! Have you heard anything from UofT again, I am debating whether I should email them just to ask if all spots are filled in the program since it has been a week from the email.

Go for it! I think I'll join you. Maybe they'll send out an email if more than one person emails them about it. Let me know if they reply!

Keep in mind that they will only inform if anyone drops their spot. As of now, the spot is full - until someone gets offer from other school or decides to defer or etc, and decides to drop the spot last minute, the school won’t inform anyone just yet.

Oh thank you! I didn't know the spots are all full, I guess my chance is very low

Hello! I emailed UofT today, and they replied me said that there is no spot available for now, but there might be spots available at the end of August, and then they will notify us. I would assume previous offers will be expire at the end of August, but without knowing my actual ranking among the 15, I would say the chance is slim. Are you currently preparing for another program to start in September? as I am not holding much hope for this waitlist

Has anyone heard anything from Western waitlist or know anything at all? Is it even normal for people to give up their spots so close to beginning of classes?

Shoutout to everyone on a waitlist feeling anxious knowing this might not happen and to just accept it but there's that *Tiny* little bit of hope.

Oh, that's interesting. But who even has pending offers at the moment? I also do not have any other program starting September, I made the mistake of applying to only a few nursing programs ?. All my hope's right here.

That is exactly what I thought, but I checked the 2018 forum, and people did get acceptances around August 30th. I then check the UofT website, August 24th is the last day to register in the program. Perhaps they mean if for some reasons people decide to not register in the program, then they will still admit students on the waitlist. That being said, if they confirm the spots are full right now, I doubt there will be available spot at the end of August. But please don't loose hope! We have made it this far! I think they will send out an email on Sept 8th at least to tell you all the spots in the program are full.

Are you saying that people that accepted their offers but haven't submitted their immunizations, etc on time are the people that would be removed?

If that's so, then we might actually have a shot, me and you both. I just wonder how many people are going to be that late/neglectful though ?

They don’t remove people for immunization stuffs - we were actually given with indefinite (nov 30) deadline for submitting our stuffs. She meant people actually dropping their spot on their own will due to whatever their personal reason.

I understand, but she's also saying "August 24th is the last day to register in the program", but anyone that was admitted already accepted their request and moved on wasn't there some sort of two week limit?
