Hi all,
I thought that maybe it would be good to have a sticky for online science courses.
I am currently looking for an online/distance learning-- 4-- credit microbiology course. Of course it has to have a lab.
I know that both ccconline and Rio Salado offer these courses. Anyone have experience with either one of these in regards to microbiology, i.e. testing, level of difficulty, user friendly technology. I know from experience with Rio that the exams are proctored but how does ccconline deliver their exams?
If you have a link or resources to other colleges offering sciences--please post them here.

FYII am currently researching if the following schools will accept the online science courses with labs at Rio Salado:
Moorpark College in Ventura County, California
Los Angeles Pierce College in Woodland Hills, California
Los Angeles County Nursing Program
I will post their answers once I receive the information.
Moorpark said no to the Microbiology, and never responded to me on the A&P
FYI
This school is relatively inexpensive (like around $300 per course even for out of state although not including the cost of books as opposed to almost $1,000 out of state for some of the others) NO proctored exams, NO purchase of microscope, etc. They only have the A&P classes online though (and some chemistry and biology) not microbiology
Does anyone know any regionally accredited colleges offer an 100% online PHYSIOLOGY ONLY course that includes online lab (because I already completed Anatomy only course & therefore can't take A&P II combined course else I have to take A&P I too)? I am also looking for a 100% online MICROBIOLOGY w/online lab (not Intro to Microbiology). Thank you for helping out.

What do you think about the A&P class? was it really hard? Thanks

I didn't take it yet. My husband was enrolled for this semester, but he got activated by the Navy Reserves and has to put school on hold for now. I plan on taking it in another year or so.
If/when either of us takes the class, I'll be sure to post my thoughts!
How did you do with Dr. Simmons AP class? I am taking it now and doing well but his tests all seem to be all true/ false and they are tripping me up. did you have that problem as well. Thanks
Danielle
I did well with his course. Yea, the tests questions sometimes tripped me up, or there'd be something i had NO idea about. Don't remember reading it, etc.. But overall, I did well.

I don't know if this is feasible for you or not, but Santa Barbara City College has a hybrid online Medical Microbiology course

They meet twice per week in the evenings for lab time. It is the only one I have found in Southern California.
