I need something 100% online, no clinicals, no proctored exams, no nonsense. I just want to get this done. Any advice?

WGU rocks! Just graduated from there - only took 14 weeks, less than one excelsior class :p. There is a practicum, but it's done on your own time and is not 'clinical', but community health based.

is the college that is on the 3.0 is highest GPA you can received? Curious for a friend who is looking, that might be a good option for her. thanks

Yes, is the college with the 3.0 GPA. I know a two people that are pursuing their BSN through WGU. One likes it and the other doesn't. The one who isnt happy said that WGU must have realized people were completing their BSN too fast and changed the curriculum on her. I'm not too sure what's WGU's new requirements now.

Most people are completing their BSN online now and say there is a lot of paper writing or responses to posts. I think this is the new way of learning now and it's more convenient then going into a classroom.

Most RN-BSN programs are paper/assignment driven. No tests.

Not entirely true: there are tests and quizzes. Not as many as there would be in a regular BSN program but they are there. I've had to take several while going RN-BSN.

Usually they are online through the course software (BlackBoard, Epic, etc.). and the school expects you to abide by both the course guidelines and the school's honor code when taking it.

Just to clarify-WGU is pass/fail and they do not give a GPA. They say a pass is the equivalent to a 3.0 or above but they do not issue a GPA on a transcript. :)

How does that work if you want to go in for a masters? Seems like that could cause problems with the gpa. I had a 3.85 gpa from my BSN....got into first and only masters program I applied to. I have to wonder what would have happened with a 3.0 BSN gpa...would I still be trying to get into a school?

It can and does. People have chosen not to go to schools that only offer Pass/Fail precisely because applying to higher education can be difficult or impossible. Not all MSN programs will accept a "Pass" instead of an exact GPA.

Also, those who are utilizing their employer's tuition reimbursement programs usually need an actual grade, not "Pass" in order to be compensated for class. And sometimes the grade determines the amount of reimbursement.

Check out all your options and understand any requirements in advance of making a school choice.

I did Grand Canyon University and it only took me 13 months while working full-time. The classes were 5 weeks and there were no tests or clinicals. Only downside was group projects with people who did not have the same work ethic. Oh well, maintained my 4.0 and start grad school next month.

I love that schools are starting to drop the whole group project thing, but not enough are and not fast enough IMHO! Group projects are a valuable lesson when you're in middle school/junior high, because then you learn that not everyone pulls his own weight, some people will work harder to achieve a good grade for the shirkers. A societal lesson. But at this stage in our (professional) lives, it seems like an utterly ridiculous requirement, and a poor method of assessing effort and knowledge of the "group".

University of Texas at Arlington. Took 18 months with a wedding and spinal surgery in the mix.

Great program. Not necessarily easy... but if you are dedicated and have willpower, you're golden.

Many, many of my former classmates and colleagues have followed suit and start school there. I'm in my final course, Capstone, right now. Hello graduation... if I can pass this! :nailbiting: Good luck and Godspeed!
