CAPSTONE Project Guidance
Scarlet and Bees, Thank you so much! I have worked four of the last five days and have been very stressed over this class. Thank you so much for being so kind as to lend some advice about this. I will let you both know how I do and must say, I am proud to be held in esteem with some wonderful alumni! Have a wonderful evening! :-)

100% online RN-BSN programs
University of Texas at Arlington. Took 18 months with a wedding and spinal surgery in the mix. Great program. Not necessarily easy... but if you are dedicated and have willpower, you're golden. Many, many of my former classmates and colleagues have followed suit and start school there. I'm in my final course, Capstone, right now. Hello graduation... if I can pass this! Good luck and Godspeed!

PCCN Exam -study
I plan on taking it before Christmas. I just completed a two day training program and bought a study guide... I'd definitely be interested!

Just Finished RN-BSN Program
Common, I am deathly afraid of the Capstone Project. I am currently in the third week, just getting my presentation together for initial post. I have my topic and supporting information; however, I have no idea what the presentation is expected to look like. I posted a similar post looking for guidance... I am not looking to copy and paste, they use SafeAssign anyway... I am looking for an example so I know what in the world they expect so I can finish and my hospital will reimburse me for the entire course with a grade of A. Anything less and they take my money. Any guidance is welcome. My email is [email protected] if you are willing to conduct communication for guidance only. I appreciate anything you are willing to share... and most importantly... CONGRATULATIONS! It's a tough program, but a great one... Congratulations on making it to the other side... I hope to join you Oct 25th!

Which class to drop?
See... I disagree... I would drop Government. I am in my Capstone, final course of RN-BSN, at UTA and the history courses killed me... the reason - I don't do history. I am great at math and statistics. Bottom line - look at each syllabus online and see which you know you can handle with some additional stress. I had to drop a few over the last 18 months because of my wedding and spinal surgery... and sadly, the history/governments were my lowest grades. Best of luck to you, it's a GREAT program!

How to drop subtle hints with my nursing students about faith.
I work for an SDA hospital, and went to the university associated with the SDA system. I must say, religion was a huge part of my ASN, which really made me upset that I was being forced to learn about something I was not interested in. That said.... When you go into this profession, you deal with people every day. If you are lucky enough to work in an acute care, hospital setting, you soon realize there must be a higher being for lives to be saved or lost the way they are. I believe, after my forced experience with religion during nursing school, that it is necessary to be able to identify with a patient - to take their hand and pray with them, or just speak with them, good thoughts and hopes and prayers. It's really a delicate topic, but being comfortable with what you believe and understanding faith is the foundation for medicine and healthcare, you will be ok.

How did you prepare for the start of nursing school?
I did all my lounging and relaxing, and Ellen watching before nursing school started... because once it did... my life was never the same. Take some time for yourself, because after you are a RN, your life is about others... not you!

I need a Flux capacitor!!
Hopefully I will not need this for the PCCN I am about to take. Yikes!
- How old were you when you started nursing school?

CAPSTONE Project Guidance
Hello Nurses. I am a critical care cardiac nurse in Florida. I am in my final course, Capstone, and having a heck of a time. This course requires you create a PowerPoint presentation of an entire Continuing Education Credit course, all by yourself with no examples of work. I am not looking for something to copy. I have my topic and content; however, I am looking for an idea as to what they are expecting. I am deathly afraid to submit something that doesn't have all they want... which they have not really provided solid guidelines. I have no idea how many slides, content requirements or anything else at this point. Never thought the absolute last weeks of class for my BSN would be my problem. Any guidance at this point would be greatly appreciated. Wish me luck.

UTA RN-BSN CAPSTONE Beginning 9/23 Information Requested
Good afternoon! I am writing to inquire if anyone would be willing to share a syllabus or course calendar with due dates for the NURS 4585 RN-BSN CAPSTONE course. I am a cardiac CCRN and want to make sure my work schedule allows for my school work (I didn't get all the way to Capstone to not be able to finish my degree). The last class I took was the only course in the program to require all assignments be completed by Thursday at 0800. Not one other course in the RN-BSN program had that day of the week as the due date... and it killed me. If someone could share the documents or perhaps let me know what day of the week RN-BSN CAPSTONE requires assignments be submitted, I would be forever in your debt. I'm just trying to make sure my work schedule doesn't hinder the light at the end of this UTA RN-BSN tunnel. Thank you!!!

pls help
You took the words out of my mouth. I am a brand new nursing student, about to start clinicals ... and I just said out loud to my boyfriend, "I can't believe there are people on here who can't use google, but expect to take care of me in the hospital." There appears to be a great deviation in requirements between her and my school. Or she so procrastinated so close to the due date, this was a final option. I understand we all have to stick together, which is why I am trying to learn the lay of the land here, job shadowing, SNA. But come on.

First year here ... how'd you get there?

A decision has to be made...
I have taken all pre-req courses for the program. You cannot get into the program without completing all maths, sciences, psychs, etc. The Nursing program itself if named 7 credit hours, but when you look at my block schedule of how long I am in class and clinicals at the hospital, it is over 23 hours of instruction for the program alone ... NOT including the religion course I must take.
