Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello Everyone,

I am preparing myself to apply for Summer 2018 pacesetter BSN program. We can use this forum for Summer 2018 applicants. I am in the process of taking Hesi exam. I have completed all my prerequisite courses needed for the program.

Little bit about me:

BS in Microbiology in 2005 -GPA (3.05)

MPH degree in Epidemiology in 2012-GPA (3.85)

Associate degree of Science in 2017-GPA (4.0)

Hesi test-will be taking it in August

Working full time with City Health department as an epidemiologist specialist since last five years. I am also a mom of two boys.

Got accepted to MUSC college of nursing program but declined it. Also got accepted to Johns Hopkins Entry into Masters of nursing program for Fall 2017 but had to deffer it to Fall 2018 due to financial circumstances.

Trying to apply for the in-state school due to affordable tuition as well as easy commute.

I really hope i can get into UT Health Science center pacesetter program as it's my first option as it's closest to me as well as it's affordable and one of the best programs in Texas.

Do yall know if the school takes spring break off?

Yes it's this week

Yes it's this week

Thanks. Now I can know not to check for updates this week, lol.

I was waitlisted for Summer 2018!

Does anyone know.. if they don't receive your HESI scores from Elsevier by the application deadline, will your application still be considered?

Yes but I am not sure. If you took it this month they wait for your results to come in. Even if you took it on the deadline they wait until the end of the month. That is if and only if you took it this month:( Good luck and I hope it works out for you.

As per UT Health website:

Scores are reported to the UTHealth Register at the end of every month. If an application deadline falls after that timeframe, the School of Nursing has an agreement with the testing agency for those results to be sent on the next business day thus allowing students to meet the application materials requirement.

When are you taking the test?

I took it on February 20th at Lone Star. I entered the UT Health Code into Elsevier but I also paid and sent the transcript as well. It says that they finally sent it by email yesterday, but my portal still hasn't updated.

Yeah I took it on February 20th at Lone Star. I also sent the scores through the company as a back up but it still hasn't updated.

Hey There! I also did this SAME exact thing. I applied for Spring 2018 and rejected. I reapplied for Summer 2018 and I have been put on the waitlist

Hey Everyone! I'm new to allnurses but I've been reading this thread!! I thought I'd join because I applied to UTH in for the Spring 2018 semester and was rejected. I reapplied for the Summer 2018 and have been waitlisted (I was notified last week!).

Does anyone know the # of students waitlisted?? Or when we would find out that we have been accepted/rejected. I assume it's based on however many accepted students confirm their enrollment.. which leads me to believe that there is no definite answer. Curious to know if anyone else has heard any more information on that though???

Has anyone ever been waitlisted prior to this semester and could give me some advice/info? THANK YOU in ADVANCE!

A little bit about me:

I graduated from the University of Arkansas with a bachelors in Biology.

I found my passion for nursing after working in the ER as a medical scribe for a year.

I have a 4.0 science GPA and a 3.8 overall prerequisite GPA.

My HESI Score was a 93 overall!

the number of students admitted off the waitlist will vary depending on how many reject their admission! I am not sure when you will be notified if you get off the waitlist but I remember reading that most students don't find out until a couple weeks before classes start :/ But I am honestly so surprised you didn't get in...your stats are amazing! I would recommend applying again but also to different schools! there are plenty of schools that would accept you with those stats!
