SPC Spring 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I've been active on a different thread for people who applied to St. Petersburg College's Nursing program starting in August 2018. I made it on the alternate list (still completing Microbiology-finals tomorrow!), but have decided, with the help of an HEC advisor, not to accept if I get offered a last minute seat based on the fact that my only options for clinicals will be whatever no one else wanted. She said I'll definitely be accepted for January and will have top choice of clinicals/instructors, so I'm happy waiting another four months to start. Who else is applying for the Spring 2019 program?

Awesomene congrats ... you're a definite for Spring with your grades I wouldn't sweat it

Hey guys! I also applied for SPC Spring 2019. I have a 4.0 GPA and 26 out 30 credits complete. I'm taking Micro this fall. Anyone else in a similar situation? I saw another one person on here had a similar status and overall that equates me to a 3.6. I'm wondering if I'm going to get in. Anyone else look at Galen or any other colleges? Nice to meet all of you!

Hi! That was me with the similar status, only it was for the fall program. I was notified that I was an alternate on July 1, and this morning found out that I made it in for the fall program. I did decide not to accept and will be starting in January instead. But I think the fact that I made it in for the competitive fall program bodes very well for you getting in for spring semester, as it is less competitive than fall. Good luck in micro. Did you get Dr. Menard? Come see me if you need help or have any questions. I will be tutoring micro at downtown on Monday afternoons (3-8) and at midtown Thursday mornings (9:30-2:30). My name is Alexis.

Welcome ... good luck

Hi Alexis! Congratulations on your acceptance. I hope to get accepted and start with you in January! I am taking micro online with Ulrich and the lab at the clearwater campus with Goldsmith. I will definately reach out to you if I have questions...that's awesome that you tutor others. Are you interested in the day or evening program?

I'm hoping to be in the day program. I love tutoring! My A & P professor recommended me at the end of A & P 1 so I've been working at SPC as a tutor the last two semesters but only started tutoring micro after our first exam. It's such an awesome class-you'll love the lab!

This is absolutely torturous having to wait 3 more months to find out decisions D:

Don't even sweat it-you got this! Even if you don't on the first round (but I bet you will) you'll make it in as an alternate for sure. Just remember they made it so far down the alternates list this time that people with 66 points were offered spots. And you will have 66 points-with Spring being less competitive. Golden

I understand that enrollment is down at the school hence the reason we're getting computer generated emails about enrolling , books , etc

Sounds like this program is being affected as well.

Hi everyone, I'm Mike. I recognize a few of you from taking Micro this past summer. I'm applying to the LPN-ADN program for Spring 2019. There isn't a separate thread for it, so I hope it's OK to post here. I spoke to an adviser about my chances to get in - the bar is much lower for LPN's. GPA's range from from 2.75-3.6 depending on who applies, and they've lifted the 1 year of work experience limit. I only had a 20 year old B in English keeping me from having full points, and they told me it's no issue - and that I'd really have no issue getting in, so here's hoping!

Right on Mike! Glad to see you here-I'm sure you got this!

HI Spring 2019 Team,

I have completed all pre reqs, pinelles county resident, and nervous as all can be applying with a 3.667.

I wish everyone the best in this nerve racking period. For the Menard summer peeps, I hope we get to see each, our semester flew by super fast!
