Sam Houston State - Spring 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

As I was going through looking for threads of the programs I plan to apply for I didn't see one for SHSU Spring 2019 so I decided maybe I would go ahead and start one!

I am currently finishing my associates of science and associates of humanities from Palo Alto College in San Antonio where I currently live, then will hopefully have everything in line for SHSU application when it opens up.

I do still have to take my TEAS exam which I have scheduled for June 27, I am so nervous about cutting a great score to help with my chance of admission, especially since I won't have the extra point for being a SHSU student.

I'm excited to hear from others who will be the applicant pool as well and hopefully we'll be starting our nursing journey together, good luck to everybody!!!

also if someone got the booster shot, how much was the vaccine?

My hep b titer came back low too but they told me that I had to get the whole vaccine series again. Im getting my second one later this week.

Yeah mine was due by October 5th as well. It made me sooo anxious lolol.. like maybe I'm the leftovers and on the waitlist haha! This forum gives me a mini heart attack sometimes lol. Good thing is, I was finally able to turn my forms in today... hopefully all is well. It feels like time is literally moving backwards.

I agree about this website wanting to give you a heart attack, lol.

I'm glad you were able to get everything turned in! My paperwork deadline was 9/24, I wonder if deadlines were different based off of what was missing?

Hmmm, who knows!

I just know I am dying for these decisions and I would love if they came out sooner than the 44 day post application date.

Does anyone have a changed status under their application? Mine still says "pending review," just thinking that some applications have to have been reviewed by now being so close.

I don't think any applicant statuses will change until they start sending out acceptances/denials/waitlist officially

I really dislike this wait period lol just last year the decisions went out in 2wks and the app status changed but I understand the program is getting bigger and more people are applying, just super nervous. Good luck to all!!

lmaooo I understand your pain, I thought we were going to find out sooo much sooner!!! This wait is killing me! I hope we all get in!

Hey everyone! Can someone please clarify on whether or not we have to have the Hep B positive titer submitted by October 5th? I won't be able to get my titer results for another two weeks. :/

Luckily I'm not the only one dying over here waiting to hear back lol! I feel like this forum gives me a calmer minded set knowing that I wasn't the only one who has to get the immunization re check. But I did notice that none of the previous forums had this problem or did they allow them to correct any information. Might be something new this year. But I do think we will be getting a response either this Friday or October):

I agree you your statement about feeling better knowing that others also had to correct things. When I first got email I was so terrified but was able to breath a little easier when I saw others were in the same boat. Yeah, I'm thinking maybe this was the first time they allowed people to correct them (SO thankful for that) or maybe last forums weren't open to sharing about it? lol.

It seems like in the past waves of decisions came out, so I'm hoping maybe the first wave will come out this Friday and continue into the next week. *fingers crossed*

If you received an email I would assume you have to have it turned in by Oct 5.

I had my titers drawn at AnyLabTestNow. I had to pay out of pocket for them, but I did have the results via email the next day.
