Sam Houston State - Spring 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

As I was going through looking for threads of the programs I plan to apply for I didn't see one for SHSU Spring 2019 so I decided maybe I would go ahead and start one!

I am currently finishing my associates of science and associates of humanities from Palo Alto College in San Antonio where I currently live, then will hopefully have everything in line for SHSU application when it opens up.

I do still have to take my TEAS exam which I have scheduled for June 27, I am so nervous about cutting a great score to help with my chance of admission, especially since I won't have the extra point for being a SHSU student.

I'm excited to hear from others who will be the applicant pool as well and hopefully we'll be starting our nursing journey together, good luck to everybody!!!

Okay guys !! Never fear lol!! I just spoke with the school. If you can't get a hold of your original documentation or your previous physician is no longer around, all you need to do is get your new physician to sign off on your immunization copy saying that it is indeed all the information is true and correct!

WOO-HOO! This still proves a little challenging for me as we just moved to the Houston area and I have not yet established a new PCM but I WILL get this figured out! lol.

Omg you have just made my day! Lol

Yes, NurseGonzales to the rescue! Although I am still a total nervous wreck :nailbiting:

I too received an email about my immunizations. When I went and got my HepB titer, I was non immune, even after having vaccinations. So I had to go back and get a booster, which was done on the 21st. The immunization requirements say that titers should be pulled a month after a booster, which would be Friday. If I have titers done on Friday (which I can't anyway, because I have work), they wouldn't have them back by Monday, which is when they're due.

My first titer came back non immune as well & I had to repeat a booster series but the second titer came back good to go.

I know you said you work Friday but I had a titer drawn at AnyLabTestNow as soon as they opened and I got it back early the next morning. There may be a chance if you could squeeze into one early Friday it would be emailed back before close of business on Monday.

Yes I redid my hep b titer yesterday at 3pm and received my results this morning. I got it done at Anylabtestnow in Rosenberg.

So with the help of my husband, I managed to get everything done and emailed back to them today & received confirmation that I met all of the requirements, talk about sweating just a tad bit less now!

Although course I am still anxious about the decision, at least I've checked all the boxes and left it all out on the field.

Hi. Do you mind me asking when did you send in your stuff and how long did it take for them to reply you with the confirmation that they received it? I'm just curious because I send mine in Wednesday and haven't gotten nothing back from them. Super nervous

I got the email from them Tuesday about the error, sent in the corrected items this morning and this afternoon I got an email back from them saying I satisfied the requirements.

I did resubmit my immunization. And they emailed me back saying I met the requirements for 2019. Yayyyy

Okay so I have a question regarding that! I sent in a copy of my vaccines/immunization record with a signature of my physician at the bottom but it still says no signature on record in the recent email I received? I do need my titers for HEP B, but I thought everything else was fine :(
