Hi everyone! I just found the thread.....Hx about me I have been a nurse for 6 years. I started out in CCU/ICU and moved on to the ER. Now I work for DOC in a max male prison. I love what I do and find it very facinating as well as challenging. :) of course me being crazy helps too...:chuckle[/quote']

I work at a psych facility in Purcell... I have heard that there is an RN program at the OU Health Science Center that is from Redlands in El Reno. But I have heard it is word of mouth only and it's a nine month program and clinicals are at Norman Regional. Anyone heard of this?

Hi Wanabern! I can't really answer your question about working in obstetrics or pediatrics, but just wanted to say Hi to a close neighbor! I've just finished up my 1st year in the Nursing Program at CASC at the Sallisaw Campus... starting 3rd semester this fall! Congratulations on getting through those pre reqs and I wish you the best of luck in being selected in the Program!

I know there is an ADN to BSN program at OU med that several of the nurses I work with are in. I'll ask Friday when I go back to work and post what I find out.

:) hello everyone, i am soooooooooo glad to be back in oklahoma! i went to lpn school in durant, worked at mcso for 2 years (after the intial 6 months i loved it) and then moved to virginia where i worked in ltc for a year. i am in the ardmore area and returning to work in ltc on monday! lol, can you tell i have been off of work for almost 3 weeks?

I'm starting nursing school in March hopefully. I was born and raised in Altus, Ok, I just thought I'd say hi and I wish you all many years of nursing in Oklahoma! :)

I recently moved to Shawnee and I'm an LPN. I have had nothing but bad experience with the LTC no hippa laws followed and taking residents that don't have capacity to properly take care of and many more... Is this a normal thing around here??? I'm starting to get concerned....

Hmmm, interesting: clinical trials?? Can you explain more about this area of nursing..love the regular hours and ofcourse the increased pay.

thanks

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.
