Hi everyone!
I just wanted to start a forum for all who applied to OHSU's ABSN-MSN/DNP program for 2018-2019. I thought it could be helpful to stay updated with interviews, admission decisions, or sharing stats in order to improve applications the following year.
I applied for the Psych ABSN-DNP Track!
Those of you who have interviewed, what materials did you bring to the interview? I'm thinking work and academic CV, letters of recommendation. What else did you find helpful? Were the questions mostly standard interview fare or did they ask any curveball questions, like some companies and schools are doing to measure creativity and confidence?
My hands are sweating as I think more about this, but its good to know that, at least last year, there was a 50% acceptance rate for the ABSN PMHNP program. I am still sending good luck vibes to you all.
Seems like a lot of programs have staggered interview dates, so likely staggered emails. I also read on other threads about OHSU's programs that of those who are waitlisted, several get in for their targeted semester, so I am trying not to be too anxious about this.
I'm not planning on bringing anything. Is it standards to bring CVs? I definitely don't have any copies of recommendation letters as they were sent directly. This would be a good question to ask when you get the email invite!
I just interviewed at UCSF and we were told that our interviewers knew our goal statement and background quite well.

I haven't seen anything on any past posts about people bringing/needing CVs, but I would definitely double check if you're concerned at all. Seems like OHSU would probably be in the same boat as UCSF on that front.
Just called OSHU and was informed that all the first round invites for ABSN-PMHNP interview have been sent out, including for Feb 13. However, they would continue to be sending invites until the spots were filled. In other words if those who got the first invites didn't make quite make it, more people would be invited in.
They could be making calls or emails to invite all the way until the day of interview!
Sad to hear I didn't make the first round. Deep breath!
I applied for CNM and haven't been called for an interview. The last dates are supposed to be this Thursday and Friday. Can I safely assume I didn't get in?
I applied for the same thing. I'm thinking I didn't get in. They're saying we can be called up to the day of interview, but I feel that I would've been called already had I been chosen. Just my thoughts really.
Dang. Same boat here. Thanks for sharing that update. Did they mention how many folks applied or how many they were interviewing?
I have no idea about this year's numbers for anything or last year's interview numbers, but someone on one of the billion OHSU threads currently floating around said they'd been told 24 people applied to ABSN-PMHNP last year for 11 spots. However, I have NO idea how accurate this is and know it's insanely far off from the numbers given to me in terms of last year's FNP numbers (though I would obviously assume FNP and CNM get more applicants).
Wow, I am sad to hear they already sent out the initial invites for PMHNP. I also didn't make the cut. For those that did get an interview, did they call to inform you or email you (or both)?
I am super bummed but also genuinely happy for those of you who have the opportunity to interview!!! Do your best. The world of mental health deserves more awesome people.
Hi! I just heard this afternoon that I was accepted for the ABSN to PNP program! I am still in disbelief, but I am beyond thrilled. Did anyone else here hear back yet? I am so excited to start and meet classmates!
Good luck to everyone who applied to the other tracks with upcoming interviews! I know it might differ between departments, but my interview was super relaxed and conversational, without any structured questions. I was really happy to have prepared questions to ask them about the program, because that ended up being half of the interview time!

I believe it's the most popular program, if I remember correctly. Man, these numbers combined with waiting to hear about an interview do not feel good.
