Hi all I just thought I would start this, since there doesn't appear to be anything started for the Fall 2017 3 year BSN at OHSU. Feel free to update as you get emails regarding interviews, acceptances, etc. This week it looks like everyone should be hopefully getting a email hearing something if they are chosen for a interview. I wonder if due to the lack of any posts for the Fall 2017 that means that competition isn't as fierce as in prior cycles... this is probably not the case. But it seems like the cohort has been alot more quite then in the past.
What do you think about the cover for the stethoscope? I found them on ebay and you can get a name embroidered on it.
That is an option. Though I like to be able to use chlorhexidine wipes to disinfect my stethoscope between patients. I have always thought that the covers acted as a place to harbor germs.

Can you tell me if you know- where can students park?
Depending on where you live it will probably make your life easier if you just drive to the nearest park and ride and take Max or bus into town. I live in Sandy and that is my plan...Milwaukie has a park and ride that is either a 30 minute train trip or a 30 minute bike trip which will be nice if the weather is good...it is trail most of the way.

I take the max from a park and ride in milwaukie. Johnson creek/ Tacoma is filled pretty much everyday by 730 am. Some days I can't find parking at Park after a certain time. Then i have to drive to Holgate and street park. It's a pain but better than parking at OHSU most days.

Does the Milwaukie lot fill up early too?? Ugh...this is the only thing that I am not looking forward to dealing with...parking stresses me out!

For penlights I love the cheap disposable ones. After they get nasty from a patient or I have to use it on a patient who is on infection precautions I want to just throw them away, not worry about cleaning it. Plus the cheap ones are just bright enough to get the job done... not so bright that they will totally blind the patient.
As far a cuff, I bought basically the cheapest one I could find on amazon. I did this because after the first two terms you really do not use them. In fact I have never used mine out of lab. Every clinical has had them available.
