OHSU BSN Fall 2017

Published

Hi all I just thought I would start this, since there doesn't appear to be anything started for the Fall 2017 3 year BSN at OHSU. Feel free to update as you get emails regarding interviews, acceptances, etc. This week it looks like everyone should be hopefully getting a email hearing something if they are chosen for a interview. I wonder if due to the lack of any posts for the Fall 2017 that means that competition isn't as fierce as in prior cycles... this is probably not the case. But it seems like the cohort has been alot more quite then in the past.

Last year I wore black pants, a top and a jacket to ohsu but a cardigan to the others, with flats. Most people wore the same or a nice dress. :)

@hollk now that you say that, I think you may be right. I think they say they we will know my mid may, but tend to let people know earlier. I am applying for Chememeta community college and OHSU Monmouth. I could also be confusing the two.

My interview with OHSU is this next week. I am trying to figure out how to prepare for the essay portion. In the email they sent out to us this last week they said it would be on the computer and we are give scenarios to answer. Was this how the writing portion was for you at Klamath Falls?

Yeah the the writing portion is exactly like that. I can't say much more but they do give you a scenario and just expect you to answer as how you might handle the situation. It's not to difficult, I was surprised that most of the people managed to type up a full 2 pages on it, and I did just 2 paragraphs. Haha.

I finished an interview last Friday at OHSU. They said that acceptance letters will go out within 2 weeks, possibly sooner....

@hollk totally respect and understand that you can not share much about the process.

Was you interview with a group of other applicants, or just you and faculty members?

Has anyone received any communication from PCC that provided with you with your point totals? I received one from CCC but not from PCC and was just curious if this is something they provide to applicants. Has anyone had their interviews at PCC yet? Do they do them all day for one day or multiple sessions for a few days? Trying to get a feel of how many people went to the proctored essay. Good luck to all on this adventure of applying to nursing school!

The interview was with 5 different faculty members all at different times not together and it is just you with them. No group interviews for kfalls.

I didn't get any email about points or anything from PCC but my essay is tomorrow 4/13.

Hollk, good luck on your essay! You will knock out of the park. Nice to see you at our interview last Friday. It was also nice to meet some of the other applicants as well.

I had to apologize to my co-worker about constantly bringing up the interview and being apprehensive about it. I think we all are to an extent... To share what they said helped me and might help: "it's ok, no need to apologize. It's your future and of course you need to think about it. Focus on what needs to happen presently, and use that energy for the now".

Very wise words. I like that a lot. Thank you and those essays were pretty good. I feel great about those.

Has as anyone heard anything yet? This is killing me. It looks like people had heard as early as within one week from interviews.

I have my OHSU interview in Monmouth tomorrow at 0800! I am feeling confident and so thrilled for the opportunity.

How did your essay at PCC go? I had mine on Tuesday and there was about 18 people there. I felt okay about it all said and done. I really like the program at PCC and got a really good vibe once I was on campus. Nervous to hear back on May 8th and wish everyone luck!

Good luck to all those who are interviewing today and tomorrow for the OHSU Monmouth program!

Agreed, good luck guys. You'll all do great, and they'll have a tough time with decisions. Hope all goes or has gone well.

@61005; I think it went really well. I was a little nervous about it at first but I felt the same way about the campus. It was an awesome set up and looked so down to earth. I loved it. I am also just counting the days until may 8th, or the next few to see if I'm accepted to OHSU in klamath. I hope we hear today or tomorrow because I can't stop checking my email. It's like, the whole next 2-3 years of my life are going to be decided based on the outcome of these decisions within the next 3 wks. I'm just ready for the next chapter. Who's with me? :)
