OHSU BSN Fall 2017

Hi all I just thought I would start this, since there doesn't appear to be anything started for the Fall 2017 3 year BSN at OHSU. Feel free to update as you get emails regarding interviews, acceptances, etc. This week it looks like everyone should be hopefully getting a email hearing something if they are chosen for a interview. I wonder if due to the lack of any posts for the Fall 2017 that means that competition isn't as fierce as in prior cycles... this is probably not the case. But it seems like the cohort has been alot more quite then in the past.

I agree it's been such a long road to get here and now that it's come down to the next 3 weeks the wait seems unbearable! Is OHSU- Klamath your first choice? I hope you hear back today and get the news you have been accepted. I know it's an amazing school and I would love to hear the results once you hear from them. Was it a full house at your PCC proctored essay? Best of luck to you throughout this process and keep us posted!

Agreed, good luck guys. You'll all do great, and they'll have a tough time with decisions. Hope all goes or has gone well.

@61005; I think it went really well. I was a little nervous about it at first but I felt the same way about the campus. It was an awesome set up and looked so down to earth. I loved it. I am also just counting the days until may 8th, or the next few to see if I'm accepted to OHSU in klamath. I hope we hear today or tomorrow because I can't stop checking my email. It's like, the whole next 2-3 years of my life are going to be decided based on the outcome of these decisions within the next 3 wks. I'm just ready for the next chapter. Who's with me? :)

I have 3 interviews to attend, I hope to get enough points to get into at least one of the schools.

That's fantastic! Do you have a preference in which order are your favorites? If so, what made you prioritize them? Fingers crossed for you but after 3 interviews odds seem favorable you'll soon have your choice of schools. Please keep us all posted!

My first choice is OHSU, CCC and MHCC are about equal, but at this point I will be happy to get into any school. I was also called for proctored essay to Columbia Gorge College, but I don't know if I will want to drive 1.20 hours each way and everyday. Still thinking if I would accept the invitation.

Those are all great schools- I like the program at MHCC but the only thing that I didn't like was that they select 72 students for the cohort but those 72 are put into a hat (literally, words from the director) and 36 are selected to the fall cohort and the remaining 36 are placed into the winter cohort. That means an entire quarter before you can start! I don't blame you for not wanting to drive that far, I am contemplating applying to LCC (Lower Columbia) in Longview but it's such a drive I don't know if I really want that. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for something more local.

I understand, but I live about 10 minutes away from the Bruning center and it would be ideal for me in a sense, but like I said any school would work.

Done with the interview at the Monmouth campus. Feels Good.

I don't feel so hot on the essay portion after looking back at it because of a couple extra words and I had a hard time getting my point across.

I hope you all hear back soon and do great on your upcoming interviews! Just be calm and yourself and you will all do awesome.

@dvit Glad it feels good to have the interview done with. The portion I am most nervous about is the easy part. The email said we would be given a scenario. Is that just one scenario that we have to answer? How long was your answer?

I have been trying to practice scenario questions, situations in which I may feel biased about and figuring out what I would do.

I'm glad to have it done too. I am oddly just as anxious as I was prior though. I think the wait is just getting to me :unsure:

@smcgarr how did today go for you? The portion I am most nervous about is the essay part. The email said we would be given a scenario. How was that for you? I have been trying to think of scenario questions in which I may feel biased and how I would respond.

How do you recommend to best prepare for the essay? How much did you write?

The essay was the easy part :) I wrote 2 paragraphs.

@smcgarr well that's good to know. Were you pretty nervous for the interview? I feel like I will enjoy one on one interviews, better then how they had previously done it as a group interview.

I am nervous, but looking forward to my interview tomorrow.
