OHSU BSN 2016 Applicants

Hey everyone! I am applying for OHSU BSN monmouth program this coming Fall for the 2016 school year! I would love to get a thread started :) It was so helpful last year! I will also be applying for Chemeketa this year.

Well I initially put micro down as a social science prereq on nursingCAS, but now realize that I need history, criminology, sociology, etc. So I'm putting down a sociology class I took on the prereq form. Not sure how that will turn out now and I feel sick about it. Getting the form emailed to them tonight though.

If you put the sociology in your social science prereqs (you need two courses), you can put the prereq to PSY215 psych class (PSY201 or 202) as the other requirement. You should be able to put micro as one of the general elective subjects to get to 45 prereq credits to get to the points for having 45 cr hours of prereqs done, I believe the only requirement for elective credits is it has to be a college level course (which BI234 is).

and for the coursework descriptions, you're suppose to locate the catalog for each institution you took courses and provide the description of the course like this:

Ok, completed the prereq form and course description and emailed them in. Still feel extremely nervous about it though as if maybe I'm forgetting something else. It's my first year applying so if nothing else I'll look at this as a helpful experience. Thank you for your help gere, you've been great!

Yay!!! Congrats!!!! I also got an email for an interview! I'm nervous though once I saw that it's a group interview. I remember last year some people in my microbiology class that had interviews, said that they were individual. I don't think I do very well in group interviews as I can be on the shy side.

Also interesting to see there will be a proctored essay. I can't remember the last time I did a proctored essay. Probably 10 years ago in high school. Hahaha I wish we knew the prompts!!!!!

Not sure if the documents differ by campus but when I spoke with the Portland admissions office over the phone they told me to the pre req worksheet is no longer used. They only require a word document with the course descriptions.

whew, 30 minutes before the deadline! Hopefully you padded your GPA by including social studies and elective courses you got A's in!

itiswell -- I believe from reading previous years application threads the ABSN is a group interview, but the traditional 3 yr BSN is a personal interview

It might be because of the difficulties with nursingcas not being able to upload them. The instructions for the application for this year said to fill it out and then upload it to the document section of nursingcas -- which didn't exist, or at least didn't when I submitted my application back in December.

I applied for this fall! Just curious about the mock interviews; I'm in Washington and I would have to miss classes for a day to attend, so I don't really want to. But are they so important that missing them would hurt me if I do get called for an interview (which, I will also likely need to miss class for).
