OHSU ABSN 2019-2020

Hi all! Is anyone an applicant for the ABSN program for the 2019-2020 cohort for OHSU? It's such a competitive program and I'd love to share insights and chat with anyone else going for it this year. As you might be able to tell, I'm applying for the nurse-midwifery program. My stats aren't that great but I'm going to cross my fingers and hopefully learn from the experience ?

Has anyone heard about their interview yet? I’m checking my email like crazy.

I'm assuming we will hear next week sometime! My understanding is two weeks prior to the interview dates they send out invites.

Same!! I think they will notify 1-2 weeks beforehand. I'm also refreshing like crazy!

Same here. Even though I don’t think we will hear this week, I can’t help but check constantly!

Does anyone know how many applications OHSU gets and what the most popular programs are? FNP, CNM, etc?

In an email with “program information” the absn stats from last year were 400 applicants for 56 spots (summer and fall) for Portland Campus and 150 for 27 spots for Ashland campus ? eek!

O.M.G. Sob!! I wonder how many of those get interviews? I read somewhere that's it's 50/50 if you get an interview but who knows?

They just said 6% (105 applicants for 6 spots) for the ABSN-FNP program in Portland specifically, and I'm assuming it's similar in Ashland.

And the ABSN-only in Portland is something like 14% and 18%ish in Ashland.

An estimation I got from a former student for the acceptance rate for the NP programs is something like 20-30%, but it was a guess.

It could be very different for the absn-midwifery program though. Hope that helps
