  1. Do any of you know if they still have space for fall 2020? Was planning to apply, but didn't realize that they offered admissions as applications were received... Also is everyone here local to Elmhurst? Concerned about applying and having to make last minute travel plans for a short notice interview.
  2. Haven't heard anything, but submitted for the ABSN and am just waiting on my references for the MSN program. I've just been trying to apply to almost all the programs I qualify for. It would be great to hear from someone who has more experience or knowledge about this school!
  3. I'm curious about this program too! I live in Oregon and haven't heard anything about this school. Hoping to apply to both their absn and this direct entry masters as the applications are pretty straight forward and I have all the prerequisites.
  4. I’ll also add that when I took them, campus/classes were closed for a week due to snow. We still covered all the material. So 9 weeks vs 10. I think it’s all still doable in a shortened summer term if you’re devoted and have the time. But I agree that if you can avoid taking them together, taking them separately would be the easier route.
  5. I just took A&P2 (out of 3 at my school), Micro and Statistics last term. And I have a husband and child and lots of other life things. Honestly I had to be diligent and study a lot but I know several other pre nursing students taking similar loads and we all did really well. If you have the time, dedication and motivation, I wouldn’t put it off. It was tough but not impossible.
  6. ABSN Portland summer or fall start.
  7. Same. I’m checking mine like crazy now hoping for something.
  8. In an email with “program information” the absn stats from last year were 400 applicants for 56 spots (summer and fall) for Portland Campus and 150 for 27 spots for Ashland campus ? eek!
  9. Same here. Even though I don’t think we will hear this week, I can’t help but check constantly!
  10. I think some of us are just for the accelerated bachelors in nursing, the interview dates for that are Feb 28th/Mar 1 for Portland and March 15/16 for the Ashland campus. So we may not hear just yet.
  11. I’ve been staying home with my daughter and getting my prerequisites done. Previously I worked as a medical receptionist. Concordia only interests me because of the online coursework. We live in Central Oregon so I’d be commuting/staying with family. If I’m not accepted this round, I’ve been leaning towards getting my CNA next term through the community college here so I can work as a CNA and finish my prerequisites while getting experience to hopefully boost my chances during the next round of applications! Obviously I’d rather just get accepted this round though!
  12. Same! If I don’t get accepted to OHSU this round, then next round I’ll hopefully be able to apply to Linfield and Concordia. Although I’m not sure I’ll be able to get my CNA. But just applied to OHSU for now.
  13. That’s amazing! My overall is a 3.7, so far my prerequisite gpa is a 4.0, but I am still finishing up some of them. I’m taking stats, A&P 2, and microbiology this term, next term I’ll finish up the anatomy series and do developmental psych (my previous minor is in psych but since I didn’t take that exact class ?.) My first degree is in History so I was missing a lot of the hard sciences. I’m concerned as I don’t have any actual patient care experience. I’ve worked the clerical side of medical clinics for about 3 years now and have felt unfulfilled not being able to be hands on in patient care which is why I’m now pursuing nursing.
  14. I applied as well! I’m so anxious to hear back. It was nice to read that some others don’t feel like their applications are that strong. I think my chances are probably average, not great, but not awful. Can’t wait to hear back about interviews.
