Hello! Has anyone out there applied to the Entry Master's Program at Ohio State for the Summer 2016 start?
Is anyone taking the online pharmacology class this Spring semester through OSU? I am signed up to fulfill the prerequisite but am wondering if I should apply to an Accelerated BSN program in case I don't get into OSU...that way I can shave a year off, and reapply through traditional entry next year. If I don't get in, the pharmacology course won't do me any good as accelerated BSN programs, for the most part, don't require it. Anyone in the same boat as me? I wish we could find out sooner! I really don't want to go through the hassle of applying elsewhere, losing money on courses I might not need, etc. I really just want to get in!
I took the course last year. It was a challenging course, but over all very interesting. I'm actually thinking about auditing it just to stay fresh on my pharm. I know pharm isn't a required pre-req for other nursing programs, but I bet the credit will transfer elsewhere if you do take it at OSU. Message me if you have any questions about the course.
I'm in the exact same position. There isn't really an alternative to going through with the Pharmacology course since we very likely won't know decisions by the deadline to drop the course. It's at least relevant to courses we'll be taking in the future, so I don't really mind (although it would be nice to know before dropping the money!!)
If I am not accepted I will be applying to Accelerated BSN programs so that I can reapply traditionally at OSU as you mentioned. No sense in sitting around for a year going nowhere! The deadline for Capital University's program is March 15, so you could reasonably pull together an application if we do find out by the end of February, as has been suggested. Not sure about deadlines other programs/programs outside of Columbus though. Getting into OSU now is still by far the better alternative, I want to find out so badly :/
I got accepted to UT-Austin's AE-MSN program and have to respond by Feb 12 with my acceptance or denial. Same boat as those taking pre-reqs, Texas required quite a bit more pre-reqs, and I'm enrolled to take them but will drop them if accepted to OSU. I would feel pretty strange if I accepted the offer to Texas because OSU didn't respond at that time. Not the worst problem to have, but I don't want to take even more classes than needed. They emailed us constantly having us do our finger prints and we had an over the phone interview. Their deadline to make decisions was March. Seems as though they had a smoother, swifter process throughout.

Thanks for the info kdaniel! This is AGONIZING. I'm checking appstatus and my email about 30 times a day, conservatively. Brutal.
