Ohio board of nursing should be ashamed

U.S.A. Ohio

I graduated on June 25th 2009 from LPN school, I sent my application for licensure, and fees and my pearson vue fee on 5/4/09, board recieved it on 5/5/09.

They recieved my letter of completion from my school by certifed mail on June 29th,09.

I am starting to get really P.O.'d I have done my part which was send my application in a TIMELY manner, and so far they have not done their part, it was waaay longer than 30 days before my name appeared as "pending", which wasn't until june 22, 09. Mind you they received my app on may 5th!!

Now I have graduated and still no ATT, the website said 14 days from the time your name appeared as pending. I keep calling and emailing and I can't get through. Noone calls or emails you back!! All I want to know is if something is wrong or what is going on with my application. I really need to get licensed, because my background check expires on july 9th (tommorrow) I don't even know if i'll have to get a new one at this point. I also have an amazing job waiting for me but I can't even tell them when I'll be able to take the test!! I am so angry and anxious. My anxiety level is through the roof,

I just need to talk to a human being. It's not fair that I have done what is required of me, and they can't meet their obligations.Like as I am typing I have called the BON at least 50 time- literally- trying to get through, I send an email at least every other day!! I'm just so confused as to what I should do. I would just go to their office if I was able to but I am not in Columbus. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can do, or is in a similar situation? Does anyone know if it will matter that my background check expires tommorrow, I was told that it may not matter since my name is already pending, I am DREADING having to get another one which will further delay me getting licensed. If that happens , I will turn around and it will be Christmas and still no ATT!! If this keeps up I will be homeless by the time I get licensed. I have been broker than I ever have in my life this school year and I am so ready to work!! Sorry for the loong rant but I don't know what to do, Im so worried. I could just bawl my eyes out right now. :bluecry1::sniff::o:cry:

I just wanted to update that I am officially "pending" on the board's site now!!! Woot woot:bow::clpty:Thank god, about time!! Now, time to get soooo serious about passing this beast!!

Getting through to the board is a HUGE PITA most the time. I had to leave several frustrated messages before they called me back reguarding my lasped license this spring.

All I can say is thank God I reapplied for my license the moment I received my reminder in the mail. I've heard many horror stories about the board of nursing being incredibly slow.

I just wanted to stop in and see if anyone has got the ATT yet? I haven't. I called the OBN and they said that it could take 7-10 business days FROM when you see your name as pending to get the application processed. So, just bc you see your name, doesn't mean your application has been processed (I thought that it did :crying2:).

Also, the ATT comes from Pearson Vue after the OBN sends them your information that you are allowed to sit for the exam. I don't know how long that takes. Some people are getting them within days, others-like me-still waiting! Bummer.

So, anyone have there att??

had all of my paperwork in to the OBN by May 25th and was finally pending last monday... soo its been 7 business days and still NO ATT !!!!!! I have a few choice words for the OBN because this is getting crazy.... $200 paid for my paperwork to move half the speed of smell.... taking FOREVER!!!! :banghead:

how long have other people been pending online until they got their ATT ???:angryfire

that doesnt make any sense. how can we be pending on the site and they not have our apps processed? shouldnt they look at them first and make sure everything is good to go before they put us on as "pending"? i'm confused. now how much longer is that gonna take, another 2-3 months! This is beginning 2 be a little bit rediculous! As the thread says, "Ohio board of nursing SHOULD be ashamed!" I'm still waiting to come up as pending and i graduated 6-23! not pending, no ATT. and now this! GEEZZ. they better get with it cuz it sounds like they're getting alot of people really mad at em.

I graduated June 12th and I am still pending. So much for the 7-10 business days too. Its crazy just sitting and waiting. I am going to call in the morning to see what the hold up is.

Hi luvmyguys,

Like you I graduated June 12 and my name was listed as pending 10 days ago. I received my ATT yesterday and have a test date scheduled for 8/16. The situation is frustrating and I wish you the best of luck ~~ I bet you hear something soon!!

And do you think they really care about that??

Aren't bureaucracies wonderful? They can plod along at their own pace, not caring whether they serve their "customers" or not.

A number of folks in my new grad program in KY initially applied to the Ohio BON for licensure. After waiting...and waiting...and waiting, they applied to KY. Their KY stuff was processed in 6 days or so. Over a month later, some are FINALLY hearing back from Ohio. Pitiful, just pitiful!

I have been pending for 12 business days now-2 weeks and I can't get through to the OBN on the phone and they don't seem to respond to any emails. So I guess all I can do is keep waiting.:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::confused:

i dont know if this will do any good...but try calling your state rep......mine helped me with an issue with my bon
