Hi guys,
I just got accepted to Univ. of Miami and I would like advice about what I should do, plan, expect to feel/see/encounter in these next few months. I want to plan ahead to be ready emotionally and I want to be organized. I live in a tiny Miami apartment with 3 other folks and a dog, so I need to share a room. It gets hard to study but I am going to try to do the bulk of my studying on campus if possible.
I don't work and am going berserk looking for scholarships, so if anyone can give me info on any good ones do let me know. :) Tuition is about 39k.
I am *not* done with my AA so I am finishing that in the summer.
I am going to CLEP intro to psych. I am already CPR certified since last week. So what should I do while finishing pre-reqs in the summer? I wanted to get a job but I think it will be impossible. Should I buy any study guides and start going through them??? Do tell!
What do you wish you would have done the summer before nursing school???
Love, me.

Honestly? Just enjoy the time you have now before school. Every school is different so the things I am using first semester may not apply to you. The only thing is nursing tests are very different than other tests you've probably had. It's more rationale than it is memorizing facts and they're worded differently. Most of the answers they give you are correct, it's figuring out which one would BEST fit the question. Getting an NCLEX study guide may help you with that. Other than that, just enjoy your free time! Congratulations and good luck to you!
Thank you! I really appreciate it. I guess I am just so freaked out and excited I am kind of jumping all over the place. :) I guess I should relax. Luckily I have summers off which is nice. The other program I applied to didn't so it is refreshing to know I will have a break within the craziness.

lol sleep and relax while you can were great answers. Dont worry about being prepared/studying before hand. The teachers are there to guide you through every step, use them if you need to...And to be organized, buy a planner!!! just take everything as it comes, one step at a time. If you try to look at everything at once it gets too overwhelming.

Congrats on getting accepted! I would have worked a lot more hours to save up money so I wouldn't have to work so much while in nursing school. Find out what you will be studying the first semester and read over it in textbook before going to your first class. Other than that just try to relax and sleep before you start into nursing!
