Applied for RN and day LPN; accepted into day LPN

TEAS 88.2

Pre-Req GPA 3.4

Nothing done yet - no physical, no uniforms, no CPR nothing!!! Anyone want to do CPR together if possible?? Also, who wants to help me get together ~$1500 in the next 6w so I can pay for classes, books and the first month of $600/mo daycare?? :crying2: Ahhhhhh!!!

FWIW - I volunteer in a Critical Care Unit...the nurse's ID badges only have their first names on them. And I know in some clinical settings, we may tape over our last name on our ID badges.

Me too! Literally 2 minutes off of it. We might be neighbors:). I really think we all should schedule a meet and greet ! But, yes that would be beneficial to us both.

I live in the community that rhymes with million lol.. does that sound familiar to you?

I volunteered at Moffitt this past school year. Full names, first and last on all ID badges. Even just for a lowly volunteer. Also, when I had my titers drawn yesterday, the PHCC student was wearing a name badge--full name clearly displayed. I'm just saying... :)

So, I went ahead and ordered from medisave.net. They laser engrave on the stethoscope for free. It looks too cool to NOT do it, so I did. Stalking be darned, first full and last name. lol

Also, I found a coupon code which deducted a few extra dollars--enter coolsymbols at checkout for 6% savings. Shipping was pricey but that engraving! SO worth it!

haha, no and I am racking my brain( still kind of early :)) . I actually live right off the Brooksville entrance to the parkway.. so at least we are both close to the suncoast! lol

Lol it's ok I live right off of County Line Road, so I guess we are two exits apart?

Just called Oak Hill Hospital and Brooksville Regional and no luck with sponorships, they said to call back in the fall.

O Ok, that works too.:)

Yeah, I got the same answer from Oak Hill and was told Brooksville Regional is in the same boat. HR said to wait a semester, and then to inquire again.

Thanks for that coupon code, Jenn! I ordered a Pearlized Pink with engraving. I decided against the tube engraving after all, wasn't too sure if I liked it and didn't want to regret it later.

I am waiting for mine to be shipped to me. Am I a dork to be so excited? I have to admit, I'm kind of nervous to be on East campus since I don't know my way around AT ALL.

Interesting, Jenn! Good to know... I guess I can always have it engraved at some point since I already have it. (I actually ordered it engraved and they misspelled my last name - back it went - was leery of letting them try again!)

Love your little nurse icon! It still has not sunk in... taking my acceptance letter up now.

I think it's been determined that we are all mildly dorky, but also that makes us very cool ;) I am excited, too. Also, I may win the dork contest because I am looking forward to trying on the TUNIC at the bookstore today. Hangs head in shame...

No worries on East Campus! It is SUPER small. I don't know where I'm going either but there is ample time to find out before classes start, and we will all help one another.

I tried on pants at Life Uniform today. Yeah...I'm really tall and skinny. I recently intentionally gained 7 pounds, so as not to get blown away with a bit of wind, lol, and it's a good thing, too. Those britches were HUGE and SHORT--the lady was calling Uniform City to see if they had XXS in tall. For the record, they don't :) I did try those Koi Marissa's on that looked so cute online--not so cute in person... I am going to have to buy online--they have the ones sold by the school in tall online.

BTW, Karen at Life Uniforms (Ghetto Mall) is really nice if any of you stop by there.

Scrubs and Beyond has free shipping over $49 and I have a coupon code for 15% off over $75. WCJMYCP1

I got the tunics (so much for trying them on, lol) and with the discount they were 16.99 each, the tall pants were around 18.00 each (hope they fit) and I bought a watch, nursemates/fossil, so I am thinking it should be fine. 2 complete uniforms and a watch, $98 to my door. I *love* a deal :)

Will the packet that is being sent have our Campus listed in it? I'm pretty sure they wouldn't ship me to East Campus.

The Sponsorship thing sucks so bad. I really needed that since I won't be working for two years and having a family and all.

DH is being a mule and not wanting me to buy anything yet because I don't need it until August. Plus we have to come up with deductible $$ for our daughters Tonsilectomy/Adenoidectomy coming up in two weeks.

I tell you what I'm excited and stressed at the same time.

Kchandler, you can call the nursing dept and see if they have you placed already. I checked yesterday when I was in the M building before my class.

I haven't bought anything yet either so don't feel bad. Money is tight for us too! We have time and we can use all the codes everyone's so nicely posted! :)
