Of all the pre-req's you've taken which was hardest

Published

I just wanted to throw this out to the group to get an idea of what ya'll thought was the hardest pre-req and why? I have seen some say Micro, some Chem, Some AP.

Let me know your thoughts?

I thought Chem was somewhat easy, and micro wasn't too bad. The worst was A&P 1 & 2, and Algebra. I am terrible at math so of course that was tough for me. A&P just required hours and hours of studying. I made an A, but it was a hard earned A.

Micro required more study time then I had ever had to put into a course before. The course itself was very interesting and I enjoyed it! Content wise history has been the hardest lol

I agree with others . . . it depends.

I took anatomy first as a returning older student - having had NO science classes prior to that except chemistry in high school. Anatomy was hard - the memorization of the bones, muscles, etc. But I loved dissection theatre.

I took physiology next. Loved it. Then micro and really loved that.

The first science class, whatever it would have been, would have been the most difficult.

Micro for me!

I am currently taking Micro and A&P II at the same time and the A&P seems to be coming pretty easy for me, but who really cares about fungi? Not me.

Thank goodness I don't have to take Chem....... yet

Good Luck!

I have to say without a doubt A&P II is the hardest by far

Chemistry!! I absolutely despised that class.

My cousin is absolutely nuts...actually I should say REALLY smart...she's currently a junior in college and her MAJOR is biochemistry. Not to mention she has a perfect 4.0. Ha I wish I was that smart!

Dear Valasca,

It was great to see your post. I am a pre-pre-nursing student. I am currently taking my pre-req's before applying to pre-nursing. Its been hard for to determine how to study for some classes. I have a BA with no science background and completely hate math... so you can imagine how difficult it has been to measure up to the classes. I walk in scared to the bone.

My question to you is "Is it possible to make it, with a terrible math background, no science, but a lot of willingness to put in the study time?"

LouLou

I say yes definately! You have to enjoy body systems and how our body reacts to things and works somewhat to even go into this field. Once I started A&P, I found that I learned so much and than wanted to learn more.

Thanks Motyandproudofit:

I just took my first practacum and freakedout. I have studied so hard for two full weeks i pretty much fell asleep with the book. Sorry my A&P I lab test, The thing is I knew the matierial but when I was standing there at the lab table and the specimens were in front of me I froze of course it didnt help that it was timed and the timer kept going off. Any Ideas how to help with panic attacks? THANKS:redbeathe

Chem 2. I LOVE all biological sciences so A&P, micro etc. were all cake for me because I loved them so much. Chemistry tries to kill me every time I look at it. It took the most amount of studying, gave me my lowest grade, and forced the most tears out of me. Chem is from the devil.

AP 1 killed med. I ended with a C plus. I would then put chem a close second. I just hated that class. :scrying:

Being freaked out is basically adrenaline that hurts you rather than helps you. Use that adrenaline to motivate you and pump you up to do better. Make sure you study enough and than just take a deep breathe and focus.
