OCCC Nursing Fall 2011

I was wondering what everyone's GPA and Preference Points were, also I was wondering if the new math placement test is as hard for everyone else as it was for me (I couldn't make the minimum requirement for the 2 preference points) so now I only have 15 preference points with a 3.3 GPA. I don't think I will make it in because of the math test. :confused:

So how do you feel about my chances with 18 points? I just got my points letter yesterday. The waiting is killing me.

Unless there is some significant shift in the Applicant pool...!

Mine came today too! Weird thing is, when I turned it in they told me I had 19 preference points, but the letter states just 16. I'm not gonna stress about it though. Good luck everyone!

I am wondering bc I have been working out my "plan B" and thought I saw you in another thread for UCO Fall 2011. And if so, I wondered if I could ask you a couple of questions about that process..?

I am the second alternate for UCO. One has already dropped out, so I'm next in line. OCCC is my backup plan :) ask away!

I am hating this waiting as well! It is seriously making me break out! I have 17 pts. and a 3.4 GPA. I have read some of the posts and if its not too late I would suggest taking Kyker for principles of chem, she is amazing and her exams are easy! As for Hirtzel...he may know his business, but he likes to belittle his students. Im an adult and expect to be treated like one, I dont care if you were a doctor, or if you are the damn president. Sorry got a little heated :) I wake up everyday waiting to get a knock on my door from the mailman holding a certified letter from OCCC! But when I dont get a knock i am terrified to go check my mail for a denial letter. :( Hopefully I will get some kind of answer this week!

You shouldn't have a problem getting in with 17 points. And as for Hirtzel... I agree.

I got in the last year with 17 points and a 3.3 GPA, I wouldn't worry too much if I were you, especially since the math scores took some peoples points away (like it did to mine). I think you will definitely get in.

I have a friend who applied with me and she called this morning. They said they were mailed out this morning!

WOW..I remember being in your shoes...i got in for the spring and the waiting was torture...we had to redo the math test too...so dont be to worried. I hope for you guys the letters are on their ways, as there is alot of preparing to do. Good Luck to everyone, and if you get in be ready for a wild ride in the first semester..just take a deep breath and go with it youll get threw it :)

I GOT ACCEPTED!!!! YAY! I can breathe now...well for like a week then I gotta start getting everything together and prepared!
