OCCC Nursing Fall 2011

I was wondering what everyone's GPA and Preference Points were, also I was wondering if the new math placement test is as hard for everyone else as it was for me (I couldn't make the minimum requirement for the 2 preference points) so now I only have 15 preference points with a 3.3 GPA. I don't think I will make it in because of the math test.

I GOT ACCEPTED!!!! YAY! I can breathe now...well for like a week then I gotta start getting everything together and prepared!

OMG well congrats I'm still waiting for mine, does your letter say what the cut off point was, I'm really anxious. :uhoh3:

No it just gives orientation information and what all needs to be completed. How many points did you have?

I had 17 pts & 3.23 GPA. Oh no I sure hope i make, I've sitting by the window all morning waiting for the mailman to come,

you will with 17 points!!! Good luck!!!

I GOT IN YAAAYYYYYYYY :w00t:

Hi, everyone!!!

:anpom:Congratulations to those accepted so far..!!!

I was not... I am Alternate Number 4, though! And for now, that gives me a little hope...

The cut-off is 17 points and a 2.9375 GPA.

I was close w/ 17 points & a 2.7638 GPA..... Sooooo CLOSE!

Congrats again!!! And I reallyREALLYreally hope to be seeing some of you sooner rather than later!:bowingpur

I did not get in and I feel like it was a slap in the face seeings how I would have if it weren't for the new math test. oh well. Hopefully I can try to pass it over the summer and enroll again in the spring.

If it makes you feel any better, me too. I had 16 pts with a 3.21 gpa. If I had passed the stupid math test, I would have had 17 pts, and would be in. Luckily, I got in to the OU program (because it doesn't use that ridiculous points system...it is heavily weighted by pre-reqs and gpa).

Congrats to all the lucky people! I am alternate 26. I wounder if they have ever gone that low before?

I am trolling through old OCCC threads for discussions from past alternates... I have only seen them go to 14, so far... But, I am not going to sit back and wait to be called. I am going to call the school and ask about the 1+1 program that OCCC has with the local vo-tech schools. I have heard there are some great advantages to going that route. And Metro Tech is @5miles from home, whereas OCCC is over 24 miles away.

So, for those feeling hopeless, don't give up until you have exhausted all your options! That's my plan!!!:coollook:

I GOT IN YAAAYYYYYYYY :w00t:

Congratulations!

I am curious about your packet:

Is there a deadline for completion of immunizations, turning things in, etc..? What is the date of orientation? I am 4th Alternate and I have heard nightmares from alternates who were called and had 2-4 days to complete stuff to get in.

So... Can you imagine my curiosity???

'

we have to turn in our intent to attend the program by may 31.

all immunizations and requirements(background check, CPR cert,& liability ins) are due: july 22 and orientation day is July 29 from 9-5( it's going to be a looooonng day). You're # 4 you have a REALLY good chance of getting in, If i were you, I'll get started right away with everything, so that you have it done for when you get in. Good luck I hope you get in, then again you're # 4.
