I was wondering what everyone's GPA and Preference Points were, also I was wondering if the new math placement test is as hard for everyone else as it was for me (I couldn't make the minimum requirement for the 2 preference points) so now I only have 15 preference points with a 3.3 GPA. I don't think I will make it in because of the math test.

Hi there, I applied with 17 points and 3.3 GPA and YES i also had a hard time with the math test because the second time i took it when I was ready to submit the test the system went down and I had to wait two housr to get back on the test and when I finally did, I went back to look at the answer second guess and i changed 1 answer( biggest mistake ever) i missed the test, I was so bummed because that ment that I would have 15 points, So i went to get my test summary and i asked if there was a possibility that I could take it a 3rd time. They told no. So I spoke with the director of testing told him what had happened and he Allow me to take the test again ( I guess he felt sorry for me cause I almost cried) so I took yet again and I finally passed, all this just happened yesterday.
Well thankfully you passed it! I made a 60% so I was pretty far off from getting the points and I did study but I had no idea about the last part of the test that was where my grade got so low. I was wondering if it was the first semester they changed the math test because I was hoping (praying really) that a lot of people had a hard time passing it and maybe that meant it would bring the curve down a little so I could get in with my 15 points but its not looking so good. It's actually making me pretty depressed!
Yes this was the first semester they changed it, I talked to several people, most of them didn't get the math points. lets just hope that the cut off this semester is 15 pts or even 16pts you could be a strong alternate. all we can do is wait and see. Not too happy about waiting. 4-6 weeks to ME seems like an ETERNITY, I'm really anxious.

I have 17 preference points with a not so hot GPA. I have my Bachelor's degree, and that GPA really weighed me down. Fortunately, I did well on the TEAS, passed the math placement test, and have the class points (except I haven't taken med terminology). I feel for those that didn't get the math points. That test was tough, and I'm really curious to know how the quadratic formula is critical to providing patient care. :-/ Let's cross our fingers that the cut off is low.
It sucks that the only thing we can do now is wait. It's going to be a nail biting few weeks!
Yes this wait is going to be horrible! If it weren't for the math test I wouldn't be as worried but that test was just ridiculous! I made close to a 90% on the first two parts but it was just that last part that got me. The real kicker is I was in the nursing program last year but had so much going on with my health and stuff I was too stressed out and panicked and dropped out. I never thought it would be this much of a headache to try to get back in. You both sound like you are getting in with 17 points though!

I turned in my :nurse:ing application today for the traditional pathway. I have a 3.1 and 16 points. I want to get in so bad. I am counting on being wait listed. It's going to kill me to wait 6 weeks, just keeping an eye open for that certified mail.

Hi, everyone!
I have been waiting for this discussion to appear and here it is!!! I am definitely in a precarious position with 17 points (not bad) and a GPA of 2.764 ().
My disappointing GPA is due to youthful indiscretions, haha. So... I am working on a reprieve from the school I had attended, but it has been very difficult to work on bc it is in another state. So, I may try to take care of it over the summer.
Otherwise... I am in A&P II and Intro to Psych this last 8 weeks. Then, I am planning on taking Microbiology & Develop. Psych this summer. I feel I have to push ahead with my plans whether I am accepted for Fall2011 or not!
Anyone else???

New to this, but... I am wondering:
When you were waitlisted last time, were you offered the 1+1 Program?
Thanks.

No, I wasn't. They might only offer that to the top ten or fifteen. Or maybe you have to apply separately for it.
Regarding the math test, what did the applicants have to score in order to acquire the preference points for previous semesters? I can't remember what it was and am curious about what the changes were.
