Obamacare and Mark of Beast... wrong time to be a nurse?

Nurses Activism

Hi, first I apologize if you're a non-Christian person, but since I am and this post is what concerns of, you're free to leave before you read, or discuss with me if you have feedback.

If you have been paying attention to newly passed Obamacare lately, you would notice there's a big fuss about the new care and its mandated requirement for all persons to receive a chip (I believe it was referred to as very chip, typeII, RFID) by 2013, which is the year I will graduate. Of course, I think that receiving the chip would be completely optional, considering that numbers of Christians in this country will certainly refute, but nevertheless, I believe that the countdown has begun for the mark 666. I don't really care too much about Obamacare itself, but the real problem to me is the chip part. Now it is pretty obvious that the hospitals will require nurses, along with physicians and others, to receive this chip in order to keep the job; I can just see that coming. But I don't believe in it, and I will not receive it; I probably leave to some other country.

I am actually pretty worried about this because studying to be a nurse is a back-breaking, lumbar-twisting process, and I hate to think that I have to flush all that effort down the toilet if that damn chip is required. Am I the only person worried about this? Anyways, this thread is not political; I like things both from GOP and Democratic party, but looks like I need to vote someone from GOP who will repeal or at least take out the chip part of the new law.

good point pockunit. i just googled about it and read few articles and threads (not r/t to christianity) and from that, it seems that chips are required, and they link to the bank information. but i agree with you on what you said. however, no one can read everything about everything about their opinions. just because i have yay/nay opinion about Dream Act, that does not mean i am going to read the entire essay and mandate about the Dream Act, which I am pretty sure is about couple hundreds of pages. thus we use google and obtain info comparing to various resources. anyways from what i looked at, it seemed to say that chips were required.

I am completely trustworthy, I swear!

I dunno. I think I want to CHIP you just to be sure.

:lol2:

Well, that's your prerogative, but then you don't have an informed opinion. You have an opinion based on half-truths and what you think you read. If you are going to rely on Googled sources to help you form your opinions, make sure they are unbiased, fact-based sources.

Healthcare.gov has some good, clear information on this act.

Seems to me like someone has been drinking the right wing pundit Kool-Aid.

I can't get it through my head that anyone actually belives this to be true.

Nevertheless:

* The Dream Act isn't the Affordable Care Act.

* Are you looking at legitimate sites or biased ones. Did you search the act itself?

I guess it's cool if you want to believe this is all true (and it appears that you do), but for the love of all that's holy, don't spread it around without facts to back it up.

Life is too short to waste time on opinions formed on something that has no basis in reality. And failing to accurately discern information from reliable sources wastes the intellect with which a person is endowed by the creator.

LOL, Im keeping an eye on the whole post.. Think it might get very interesting :) Maybe entertaining to read.

I'm probably going to be admonished for being intolerant of others' beliefs, but... Anyone who would believe that the government of the united states is going to implement a "chip implant" program that is really "the mark of the beast" is just plain nuts and probably shouldn't be a nurse.

Here's an analogy:

There are women (and men, probably), who think that douching after sex will prevent pregnancy. Your job, as a nurse, is to educate these people on the inaccuracy of that statement. When you go looking for information to give them, do you go to whycokeisgreat.com or doucheitall.com? No, because those aren't sites that are legitimate or offer accurate information. You go to a site that has correct information on how pregnancy occurs, how to prevent it, and why coke goes in your mouth, not your lady parts.

The same holds true for this implant issue. You go to sources with unbiased information. You don't go to a pastor's website (has he read the act? How do you know?), you don't go to Rush Limbaugh's website (he said he'd move to Costa Rica if this passed. Guess who has socialized medicine?). You go to the act itself and search it. You go to the AMA or ANA sites and search for it.

What you don't do is believe the hysterics until you have evidence that they are right.

My pets each have a microchip in case any of them gets lost. How many brands of these are out there? For a long time, a vet or animal control agency could only detect one in a lost pet if they had the right brand of "wand" to wave over them. Now there are devices that can detect a variety of brands (and a lot of good it does for someone who doesn't update contact information in the database). Similarly, how many brands of electronic medical record are out there? Who would update the microchip information? I see this as a logistical nightmare.

But I would resist a chip implant as well. I see the beast-ish implications.
