What's the weirdest baby name?

Specialties Ob/Gyn Nursing Q/A

Hi, I was wondering about some of those weird names that you've probably encountered in L&D and PP. I remember when I had my maternity rotation a couple of weeks ago, one of the nurses said she remembers a patient that named her child Placenta. I couldn't believe it that some child has to live his life named after disgusting afterbirth!

Baby's whole name was "Hippolito". Mom said it was a hispanic name--she pronounced the H. Which is fine...but to shorten it to HIPPO?"

When I was working in NICU we heard a lot of crazy or weird names. But the few I remember most was Female and twins named Ja Rule and Ashanti.

I went to school with a guy by the name of Bud Weiser. Weiser is the last name. Poor kid! I have to admit that we chuckled everytime they would say his name over the intercom!

My husband wanted to name our son John Arthur but I was insistent on naming him after my father Jimmy, so we named our son James Arthur (Arthur is a family name on hubby's side). So three years later my husband wanted to name our second child John Arthur and I told him "ABSOLUTELY NOT.....I AM NOT NAMING MY DAUGHTER THAT!"........I had to go in for emergency surgery and he filled out the birth certificate.......luckily, he did not name her John Arthur......her name is Johnnie Brook!!!!!!!!:smackingf

:trout: Your husband named your child WITHOUT your input. That's a divorcable offense!
