Hi, I was wondering about some of those weird names that you've probably encountered in L&D and PP. I remember when I had my maternity rotation a couple of weeks ago, one of the nurses said she... Read More

I was a teenaged mother and I didn't tag my child with a moniker that would cause people to take pause or giggle behind her back. I named her Jennifer. Can't get anymore Apple pie than that.
Very good name. It's mine of course

lucky dog - that's my dream name!!! and if I couldn't have that name, I always said that my daughter would be named Jennifer - unfortunately, my husband has a strong aversion to that name (because of some Jennifers that he's known) so he wouldn't even consider it - thank goodness we had 2 boys so the point is moot..........
(I still love the name though..................)

Let's return to the list of bizarre names and keep our fingers crossed that the 'jello twins don't show up for a while.

I've never heard of this but its kind of a joke with me and my fiance. We have a cat named Kitty, a catfish named Kittyfish, and two other fish named Mikey fish and Christy fish after ourselves. The fish we did more as a joke too. Now all of our friends make fun of us because we are not creative and they all think we should name our children baby boy and baby girl.
Weirdest name I've seen, in peds clinical little boy had the name of Storm.

I was born to really young parents... when they found out i was coming, they agreed that if i was a boy, my name was to be Harold Armand Pitts, and they would call me Harry Arm Pitts. If I was a girl was a little more tricky. My mom won by a coin toss. I coulda been Cherry Pitts if she didnt. Sigh.

Know a woman that named her little girl Moet like the champagne and insisted it was pronounced Mo-wet. Last name was Brown.

Also went to school with a Marijuana Cocaine and an Alfreaka.

OK, how's this...in our nursery we had a mom who named her baby "Truly Lovely". It was a real stretch for most of us to connect the name with what the child actually looked like, I'm sorry to say. She had named all of her girl children names like "Most Precious" and so on, but her son was called just "Harry". It was quite the show at visiting hours when we opened up the curtains, and lined up the babies with their name tags clearly visible. Who could live up to that kind of name anyway?
