Hi everyone! I'm applying for the NYU Spring 2015 ABSN program and haven't been able to find any threads about the program yet. Feel free to post questions you have or to share information about the program, your personal stats, advice for writing the personal statement or just to say hi. Here's to speedy acceptances and a fun future in nursing! :)
My Stats:
Just graduated from Brooklyn College with a B.S. in Psychology and an overall GPA of 3.38
Got an A in almost all the pre-reqs, don't know the pre-req GPA
Volunteered as an EMT for 4 years and worked for 2 years
Worked as a Direct Care Worker for 1 year
Volunteer in Methodist Hospital in the Stepdown Unit
I'm glad I'm not the only one AppaJuice! I would actually be taking most of mine with NYU if I get itn. Ironically, developmental psych is the only one I took.
I know it's the end of the year but don't worry. Only the first round of acceptances went out so there's still more to come, hopefully we're next!
Spaceshuttleboy I am in the same boat! Some of the housing options are much cheaper then rent in that area but I can only do it if I can get my own room. I'm torn right now. Does anyone know where we will be taking classes at? I heard they were building a new nursing school up near Murray hill. Depending on how many roommates you want to live with and the area you won't really find anything cheaper than $1000 per month, unless you want a small windowless room that can basically only hold your bed. (In Manhattan that is)
When I went to NYU I lived on campus for two years and off-campus for two years. NYU housing is slightly more expensive than living off campus and you might have a roommate, but you will be much closer to campus and the rooms are much much bigger. Laundry facilities and toilet paper are also included with housing. Every dorm has its own kitchen and bathroom. There is no way you could rent a room even half the size of the NYU dorms in Manhattan for the price that they offer.

I'm in the same boat as you senjalsw.
The only class I'm missing is human development. So I would have to go to New York to take one class then hopefully start in the Fall. I haven't heard back yet but I'm a little worried since it's getting close to the end of the year. I got an e-mail saying my application is completed and I made an NYU account as requested in the e-mail. So hopefully, we hear back soon.
