NYU New Grad Residency Spring 2020

Hey guys! I haven't seen a thread for this yet so I thought this would be helpful to keep each other updated. Have any of you heard anything about the program yet?

Has anyone heard about potential hiring freezes due to covid? Is NYU definitely still interested in hiring new grads?

My friend works for NYU and she said there is a hiring freeze for all other departments. But I know NYU is still hiring new graduates. We won’t be considered for a position until we schedule or take our NCLEX.

@taskat My friend said the same thing. Her boss told her they're waiting for all the travel nurse contracts to finish, then they will likely start hiring again in June. There's hope!

I had another interview and they basically said they are interviewing new grads so as soon as new positions open up, they will offer it up. They are creating a “waitlist” for these students. And there is a hiring freeze. I just wish they wouldnt interview and get our hopes up just to sit and wait for the spaces to open.

@storm30 So this was a unit interview or a secondary interview with HR?

I am still waiting for my ATT authorization. But I’m planning on being flexible and taking it wherever I can as soon as possible
