Hey guys! I haven't seen a thread for this yet so I thought this would be helpful to keep each other updated. Have any of you heard anything about the program yet?

I have a feeling they might be holding off on the new grad residency for now because of COVID-19. Lots of hospitals are focusing all their energy & resources on training their staff to respond to the crisis, and teaching a group of new hires may not be feasible at the moment ?

^ I agree, it's not just NYU. All NYC hospitals are focusing on their current staff and they're all so overwhelmed. They can't have valuable nurses precepting new grads/new hires whilst a pandemic is happening.

I'm a new graduate since dec 2019. Passed my boards early march. Sent applications out in NYC. haven't heard anything in the past month. But, hopefully once things die down, we'll all hear back from someone soon.

I reached out to someone from NYU and they couldn't give me any details about the how program will change because of the pandemic. I wanted to know if NYU will also endorse new nurses without a license yet because of Gov. Cuomo's new executive order. She just told me to followup after May 1st.

@taskat did you call someone from the residency program? Also does anyone know if this position is applicable for May 2020 grads taking their NCLEX in mid-June or would we qualify for the Fall 2020 new grad application?

What does it say under the status of your applications? Mine went from profile/resume successfully submitted to profile/resume under review about a week ago, not sure what that means now.

Mine still says successfully submitted for the Spring 2020 new grad posting.
